It's crazy to me games are launching in 2026 without basic ass QOL like character respec or gear transmog.
No I don't fucking want it in a patch seven months later. Do these troons think I'm going to still be playing the same single player game seven months later?
I chimped out pretty hard on Microids when they released Tintin Reporter: Cigars of the Pharoah.
This game crashed like every twenty minutes, progress blocking NPCs wouldn't move when they were supposed to, you had to reload some of the car chase levels to get the car to control properly, cut scenes didn't play correctly so you'd see stuff like a pilot floating in midair because his plane had flown away without him, I had to lookup what I was doing wrong in a level to find out a prompt wasn't showing up that should be, a boss chase's audio was so fucked that Rastapopoulos's dialogue was extremely loud compared to everything else in the level, and during my first try at chasing Rastapopolis he stood still for some reason but I was able to keep running like I was still chasing him with all the conversations still happening.
Before a patch, there was even one chase sequence that crashed every single time at the exact same spot. That's what broke me and had me send an angry email. Even when that was patched, Tintin's character model suddenly stopped moving his arms. They'd stay at his side, even when I was having him climb.
This sucks because it was actually the best adaptation of one of the comics I had ever seen. It was the perfect Tintin video game for kids and adults; adults will find the game super easy but it's still so fun to live out the comic.
I understand this isn't QOL, but it's bullshit all the issues games are allowed to be shipped out with because they can just say they'll patch it later.
