I want rom hacks, and roms, and discussion. I want a pipe dream

Edit: I almost found this in retrogametalk.com (formerly CDRomance) they have several pretty cool jannies, but there is a specific few that are making the place insufferable.
Sorry to "powerlevel" not trying to personal army, it's just frustrating to keep losing places to trannies. If these people were cool and didn't make this shit their whole identity it would be fine. I have seen several gay/bi kiwis who are cool as fuck and not all consuming, Shit is driving me nuts
It's nicer since neutrality is the rule but they do have a few rather weird rules. I got b& for "nsfw" because I posted the intro to the song "Tampon Lollipops" by Skinless translated into Georgian and used the words "used heroin needles". For context, the former was apparently taken from some Penthouse tape and it started with the words "She didn't have legs! I guess Jerry had remembered that my ultimate fantasy was to fuck a girl with no legs!"
I didn't know NSFW applied there too but eh. Wotever!

I have zero respect for these "people" in the preservationist space that insist on having all their material on their fiefdom only, refuse to create site dumps, and then cry about being "scraped". Do you want the data saved or not, nigger? Of course not, they don't want it preserved, they want it only on their hardware so they can powertrip and grift for Patreon money.
They want the notoriety and ego stroking from being the sole proprietors and curators of such rare and illustrious information. That's why nearly all the new discoveries are tucked away on their Discord, can't have the filthy plebeians getting their hands on it. Seriously, check the Talk pages on articles. They used to be full of discussion and active investigations, then they all practically ceased activity around 2018-2022.
Best way to design the scraper (don't use existing wholesale tools like Scrapy, you will just get b&), is to get the root URL for the Special:ListFiles page(s) (if it's media you want) and programatically increment it while randomly browsing other parts of the site, all spaced out with random number pauses/waits in between.
Ok so as of yesterday, anything more than about a file a minute from the same directory will get you IP banned. Also, opening the 'View Source' tab more than 4 or 5 times in any given session regardless of time will also get you IP banned. no matter how well you disguise your viewing patterns. They've become very paranoid and very proactive.

Xfaggot has a lot of nerve seething about "wannabe archivists/preservationists" on his shitty blog when he hosts on a braindead simple mediawiki server while other, smarter people do the actual datamining. A script-kiddie using bs4 to poorly save a forum he likes means more for preservation of Internet material than this faggot ever will.
This is exactly what I was thinking, what does this stupid nigger mean by wannabe archivists? If you archive or preserve something, THAT MAKES YOU AN ARCHIVIST OR PRESERVATIONIST. How would you even be a "fake" one unless you were lying about saving something. Everyone in this thread is more of an archivist than xkeeper is a woman

Btw the soyjak wiki have a page on tcrf now

Wikipedia article

Essentially kiwifarms is NORAD for laughing at trannies. Null has the redphone to the council of chans right next to his gamers rise up button.

Never happened. No one had the address until FOIA delivered it with nulls inquiry on the Japanese death certificate. So he lied about being doxxed, but ya know take everything else he said about the farms at face value.

The one time Byuu closed his fucking browser.

Hey tranSNES developers instead of necking everytime someone laughs at your insane lifestyle, how about you have some fucking opsec and keep your hobby apart from your AGP, even if it defeats the point of AGP.
Why Xtroon's head look like a toilet brush?

You cannot hate discord and how troons utilize it enough. Everything that involves troons on a project becomes some form of "teehee, come talk to us on discord!" when they let their project rot

Unless they are IP banning people it's probably not permanent. Even then IP bans can be circumvented if you have a dynamic IP. If not, you have to call your ISP and ask for one. I know because years ago when I was younger, I got IP banned from a site. I would just change the IP address and make a new account. You can do it by just unplugging your modem.

Anyway, I didn't even know this existed. Considering how copyright claims get thrown around I am not surprised they don't get hit with them. I'm pretty sure the trannies will end up like women. Women with their false accusations of sexual harassment eventually made themselves unwanted. The same thing will happen with the trannies. You can only fuck up so much.

Protip to xkeeper. bluesky is federated. Setting your account to "login only" doesn't change shit due to how federation works. you should know this.

anyway, i saw this on his bluesky.

Very ironic you throwing shade at wikia when you are currently burning your own wiki site to the ground, lmao.

Guys i will for sure give you an archive, you will just have to ask me personally and kiss my amhole for it. uploading a 7z file to internet archive is just TOO TAXING on me.

Honestly I can understand why they all migrated to Discord for wiki-related discussion. It beats talk pages by miles in terms of functionality. Besides, the TCRF server was open to the public until like three days ago.

It may beat it for functionality, but it loses all cohesion. Information gets lost in the absolute downpour of people posting about this or that, it's almost impossible to stay on one subject for long. At least with talk pages, you could devote the page exclusively to an individual topic. Now it's just a mess.

if i had to sum up my last decade, it would simply be the word "regret".

This guy really is just endless misery and spite all around. Everywhere I look, it's always the same story: Fights and meltdowns one after another. He can only get by in an environment where he's got complete control. I will make a little effort post, and sprinkle it with quotes from the man himself so that you can really get in the headspace.

To start off, kicking out his mooching roomies is mentioned in the OP, but he has a self-hosted callout document about the two: https://archive.md/S7kGL

I wonder what made them think that.

Someone who once had... feelings for me made a short RPG maker game for a contest, ~4 years ago. [...] They tried very hard to get me to play this game. They asked me to try it for months and maybe even a year or two. [...]
In fact, not only did I never look at it, when I did finally get around to looking at it...
...it was to tear it apart and look at the insides.

"But Stephen," I hear you say. "A man of his age and status must have things going for him. Surely, he is gainfully employed and simply posts all day and stalks his users at work?"
I regret to inform you that he's unemployed. He's broke!

Finally, he's had beef with "Website league." It seems to have been a successor for Cohost, a defunct post-Twitter social media service.

To summarize: XKeeper made a dismissive post about Website League. Someone brought it up to discuss the criticism, and user Alyaza Birze really worded everyone's thoughts better than I ever could:

It is this very post that prompts XKeeper's dramatic entry. When faced with tyranny, does he take it sitting down?
the demon that comes when you call its name.

first, hi! i'm either a reactionary, a bad faith actor, a chaos agent, or a "miserable c-nt" (your words). figured i would say hi.

first: is it cool that you just throw slurs at people you don't like? i thought yall were supposed to be progressive and equitable. does that go out the window when someone you don't like is around?

second: what is it, in particular, that you didn't like about my cohost opinions? you claim here that "oh, if they were a USER, then their opinion might have weight"; i was a user of cohost, but you still didn't like my opinions or insights. at the end of the day, though, i was right: cohost is dead, and for reasons i opined that it would die. how do you reconcile that against your current stance?

third: one does not need to be a user on this service, to interact with this service. case in point, before responding to your stewards' inflammatory threads on your service, i attempted to find context for the things i posted. katja can even show that i attempted to search for the very things i was looking for and found nothing. "this software is bad!" wasn't me making things up, it was from difficulty in finding things. hell, even this thread, named after yours truly, required someone else to link it to me, because it wasn't showing up in any of the recent conversations (despite happening AS WE WERE YELLING AT ONE ANOTHER.)

if a user tries to look at your site, sees that finding things or conversing is difficult, and doesn't join, does their opinion just no longer matter? if your choice of platform actively turns people off, do you just get to write all of that off as People We Dont Like?

fourth: what lessons from cohost did you learn? you wrote a whole bunch of words about how "cohost had whiteness problems because it started from a foundation of mostly tech white people ... website league is started from mostly early cohost people ... can we learn from cohost's mistakes", when (at first glance) it appears that all of those same mistakes are being made:

starting with a heavily white, techie userbase
ignoring outside criticism that you, personally, disgaree with
taking criticism personally and attacking the person, rather than engaging with the actual issue
what of these have you improved? just from interacting with you, i have had SEVERAL of your "stewards" -- the people supposed to be guiding this operation -- personally attack me. for the crime of having an opinion that your admin attitudes were bad (see the rest of this thread for examples), or that your software choices weren't good. i've had the very stewards on this site completely misconstrue my opinions ("better make everything ourselves and pay ourselves $5 salaries to appease a very important wiki owner", things i never said), among others.

how can any of you claim to be providing a better experience when you so eagerly disprove it in the face of even one stiff breeze?

even now: where's the "yo, we're sorry that we went ham". the only thing i've seen so far is no less than three fucking threads from you folks about me, personally, in addition to alyaza's slur-filled screeds earlier. hell, even alzaya's "i'm going to log out for three days" thing didn't even last a full day!

everything i did, post the first mild criticism, was in response to things you did. where is any sort of culpability for that?

or are we already in the "i don't want to bring up what this person is doing that is harmful, because they're a big important person who works on a lot of infrastructure and i don't want to make people Uncomfortable"? because that's something i'm deeply familiar with too, and it looks like this "flat" system is having the same problems.

feel free to dismiss it all as bad-faith shit tho, its what you do best. didn't save cohost, wont save you.

(for the record, i liked cohost. i posted a lot of things about my projects and disassemblies there, because it was a nice experience, just one i saw as terminally flawed, and which ended up being terminally flawed no matter how much the other side called us unfuckable cretins or miserable c-nts. you would do well to heed those lessons.)

It's the same reason ROM hoarders won't upload what they have; the whole "collector" market hides some really dark individuals.

The biggest issue is the centralization of information on discord for me, and it takes one troon admin meltdown to nuke everything, or the owner to rage and delete everything. I have seen projects of all sorts, especially mods, that moved to discord, and it eventually gets nukes because the owner felt "No one was grateful to me" after getting one rude comment.

Not only are these people tiresome to be around, but they are incredibly frustrating. It's okay to vent, but when venting becomes your only personality and "woe is me" mindset, it's agitating. Even reading what he was writing tired me out, and no wonder people cut him out.

Surprised he didn't join the 41% club.

XKeeper, it's far past time to admit you have a problem that won't get any better by continuing down the road you're on. Deep down, you know that all the negative commentary you've gotten from others is simply because they've been hurt by you, just in the same way you've been hurt. It's a cycle of pain and disassociation that will only end in your death--and the longer you keep this up, the more people will actually look forward to it.

You're not the only one hurting, deep down; you are the one who can stop this, if you really want.

I’ll never understand those sorts of people. If I got my hands on a lost anything, I’d be publishing it everywhere I possibly could before you could say “die Null.”
