Video game archival is essentially just reliving the past, too. Wanting to preserve everything and understand all the minutiae about your favorite childhood game, in hopes some future generation will have the same experience and seek the same knowledge. Because these people really haven't grown up past the bittersweet memories they've had playing them, and it becomes, again, central to their existence. I saw a video recently saying that "nostalgia is a drug" and I'm inclined to agree.

I think you're reading too deep into it. I never had a Sega Saturn or knew much about one growing up, but I can appreciate, say, the hidden 4-player mode of High Velocity all the same, or the story of a good game that wasn't quite able to make it to stores. It's just fun tricks you can do with games, new or old.

I like how they call it the bad website. There was a podcast I was listening to a bit ago that called Xitter "the bad place" right before shilling its BlueSky. It feels like cave people gathering around a Roomba, screaming and hurling rocks at it while it just gently bumps into the same wall over and over.

How hard/easy would it be to set up another site with all of TCRF's info minus the faggotry? As an autist, I find that website's content really interesting and I'd love for it to be relocated to somewhere without histrionic trannies as admins. I'd even be willing to foot the bill in this hypothetical scenario.

The website's content is licensed under Creative Commons Attribution 3.0, so if the troons throw a fit about it they'd have no standing (just as long the new site credits TCRF). The site is predominantly text and small images, so it wouldn't be hard.
If you're banned from tcrf.net, you could just scrape all the pages of the site archive.org has, and then host that.
Once again, if I may suggest "The Chudding Room Floor" as its name...
