That's an interesting part, and something brought up a few places.

Texas (which is where Funimation is HQ'd) has laws on the books that declare that if you work for a company, and make an official statement in an official capacity, you are, by definition, speaking for that company. Think of how many times Samantha Inoue-Harte claimed to be involved with the investigation, or Marchi and Rial claimed the same. Funimation may very well be on the hook for this whole thing, and with many of Vic's acting gigs going to IRL friends of Rial, there's easy the possibility of further information getting dredged up.

Funimation's been in the weeb crosshairs for a while. God show that company mercy, because the weebs will show none.

My honest suspicion will be Nicky Rackets will be right. Daddy Corporate will come in, bring in their legal team, talk to Vic's Team and just go "Ok, will us firing the ring leaders of this shit from our subdivision be enough for you?" Sony will then probably ditch everyone involved in this shit storm from Funimation because these assholes were all semi-freelancers anyway. Because god knows such a huge fucking legal ballache as this horseshit is going to cost a division Sony increasingly sees as a financial burden means they will take the shortest, cheapest, route. Which means tell everyone to fuck off and get in people who can do shit way cheaper.

I find it illuminating that ANN and/or Gizmodo hasn't gone after Rekeita for the black face pic yet.

If they did that, they'd have to explain why he's relevant to the story, and the GoFundMe would be even more known.

I would bet anything they're waiting in the hopes that it will fail (it looks like it's gonna succeed though).

It's almost like they're not news organizations.

ANN doesn't really report on things that make their side look bad. Theydidn't report on Samantha's fake SWAT hoax until there was a bogus police report days later they could use as an attempt to insist she merely lied to protect her own identity from the evil Vic stans.

They've yet to even mention Pensacon. They're probably waiting to see if the head of it gets busted or not before they give it any attention.

The reveal hidden content tabs don't work :(

Just go through the thing manually. It should have every page up until about 1 AM last night. Marzgurl starts posting about halfway through so around page 30-40 or so. She really wanted those ass pats. I think their entire website is down though so it may come back.

Didn't even know about that vampire controversy. Has there been controversy over other titles (i.e. prison school, stopping release of case closed, etc)?

I think since then they've been mostly relegated to pulling dumb shit in translations for dubs while pretending the Japanese Jokes "Won't work on an American Audience."

That's how we got the fucking fun bullshit of the various dubs a dude named Tyler got in this nice bite-sized video format:

Always remember the main tenant. NO FUN ALLOWED.

Isn't this extortion when you hold unwilling subscribers hostage?

meh, its Funimation. They'll probably come up with a story how those guys that wanted to unsubscribe are sexual harassers. Girls will come out and say stuff like:
''oh my god, in 2004 I was talking to this guy on the Funimation Forum and do you know what he did? He poked me and send me a winkey face. I could have never shared this story before, but now i feel powerful with all of this survivors coming out''.

Viz has been better about translating jokes. Some jokes in one anime they'll soon be dubbing, Osomatsu-san, has a huge play on words deal, but I think they can do it. ne of the characters straight up is trying to feel up a girl saying he wants to "kiss you" but the Japanese term for it made it not rhyme with what it would be in English. They can get around it by saying "He said tissue, he's got a cold and a runny nose." But completely erasing a joke, or rewriting it to be "haha XD references!" is not translating.
