Blizzard reached a settlement that encompasses all parties of the lawsuit.
The settlement conditions are "confidential", but some info from a filed permanent injunction is public.

They have 60 days to fulfill all requirements of the settlement.
Below are the terms of the PERMANENT injunction that applies to ALL defendants.

And yet the biggest game companies on the planet wonder why they're steadily slipping into decline. This industry is run by bonafide retards.
 
I never got around to trying it myself but everyone I knew who played it said it was awesome. Shame.

its not a mod, its a whole package that includes a server running an emulator of blizzards official wow server (these have existed for 2 decades now and are sort of in a legal grey area afaik because they dont use any of blizzards source code) and in the case of turtlewow a modified wow client as well. there are clientside only mods that do things like update the 3d models or other graphics which the base game can load on its own, you just drop a file into the games data folder. the issue is that turtlewows modifications were so extensive they probably changed the original game files as well and distributed them which is a severe license/copyright violation

obviously the main reason why blizzard cares is that they accepted money in the form of donations and microtransactions for doing all this and they were doing a better job adding new content to the game than blizzard itself
 
On the minute chance any blizzard intern is being forced to read commentary on this news, I WILL NEVER PAY TO PLAY CLASSIC WOW, Nor would I play a free version that is so cucked they rename wirt's third leg or Finkle Einhorn.
 
Sorry Blizzard but no matter how many third party servers you shut down Im still never going back to your gay ass game.
 
Good server but tbh they'll lay low for a few months and swing back randomly later.
Such is the life of private servers
 
Figures I pick it back up and start a new character for the new patch and it fucking does a few days later.

I'll happily donate to support dev time if their work warrants rewarding, but any p2w or cash shop is so fucking gay man.
Still, I wanted to try TurtleWoW but I guess I shouldn't bother now.
RIP in piss, Blizzard will never understand what makes pservers popular. And I will never, ever return to official servers. Not even if they make another fun Remix or other event like it. They ruined their own legacy.
