I've seen a lot of talk from people (who, sadly I don't remember their names) on the Farms in various threads about having some kind of Catholic-themed thread, whether it was about some of the Catholic grifters in the Fuentes-sphere or just about the faith in general. Since a lolcow thread requires way too much research and approval, I decided to just bite the bullet and make this thread as a general Catholic thread.

First, for all the Catholics coming, we should introduce ourselves slightly for a smoother conversation. I'll start:

I blame Vance for saying yes to being his VP. I know that being the vice president of the United States is an enticing offer and you're taking a gamble by running yourself, but JD is a good person who even wants so far as to call Trump worse than Hitler.
I highly recommend reading his book or even watching the movie about it if you don't have the attention span for the book. He had a pretty bogus life and he was able to turn it around who determination and hard work.

I think the assassination attempt at Butler has caused a slow (but exponentially worsening) mental breakdown on the part of Trump.

Trump to me strikes me as a guy that is fundamentally cowardly even though he loves the macho imagery of being a strongman. He likes the IDEA of being a Great Man of History without having the wherewithal to sack up and be one.

So this dude survives by a miracle, and it changes him in two big ways. It feeds a savior complex, because Waheguru has clearly selected him. But it also scares him shitless because he was never the kind of guy that was ever going to cross a Rubicon. And what happens when these collide? Pathetic and petulant displays of rage. War is won, civilization's going to end tonight, the Iranians have surrendered, the war's still on and we're winning, long screeds about anybody that looks at him funny. He's having a genuine mental breakdown under the stress because he still hasn't processed what happened to him in 2024. Trump's number one love in life was always Trump.

I still think Butler was a miracle, because miracles don't have to have reasons that are legible to us. Part of me thinks this is God's way of saying "fuck you, your empire served its purpose, now watch it burn to the ground." I had a dream a few nights before the Butler attempt of the heavenly bodies looming in the sky overhead, real menacing. Imagine, like, Jupiter taking up a quarter of your view. You're using too much logic, but yes. At the same time, China's leadership might not want to do that right now. They might be content with letting Trump fuck over the US in the Middle East, while China extends its influence elsewhere. China's government has condemned many of the US's actions, which, while not much on their own, don't put it at odds with the rest of the world.

If China stated they would interdict US ships, Trump would probably order the US 7th fleet out of Japan to go straight to China's waters and threaten genocide. He's an emotional bitch, so logic and long-term planning don't exist to him.
