Tidy up and Declutter Thread! Work in 3s with me (cool people only) - Pick a room and a goal, and list 3 steps you will accomplish towards that goal. When you're done, update the thread.
Hello dear hags, I'm decluttering a massive amount of clothing, shoes and general bullshit. I've already bagged the clothes, shoes and extra hangers. Now it's time to winnow through the temu trash, unwanted gifts, and shit I bought because i had a grand fantasy of making air clay flower beads or whatever.
Room: Office / extra storage/ crafts workroom
Goal: To create a calm environment I can enjoy, that fosters clear thinking and creativity
My 3:
1. Go through the current donate to the thrift store pile and assure myself there are no heirlooms that have accidently fallen in (be real nobody in the world will want my crap when I die)
2. Clear the laundry off the laundry organization surface (recliner) and put it away
3. Pull the recliner out so I can access the hidden files area to find my car title.
EDIT: Car Title Achieved! And 6 goddamn white kitchen bags of things going off to the thrifty.
Feels good, man.
Room: my tiny Europlague kitchen
Goal: finally get rid of the excess kitchen stuff so I can enjoy preparing food or not find it so irritating
1) get rid of all the excess containers and the lids that will never match them. Also, I don't need all those jars: I will not be making AND taking Pinterest salads to work.
2) clear out the press of expired spices. I have too much paprika. I am not Hungarian.
3) do I need all these mugs and glasses? Really? And these espresso cups? There are two people in my tiny home. There is no entertaining done here to justify the amount of drinking vessels I possess.
Edit: mission accomplished. I also thinned out my clothes and shoes.

No, you do *NOT* need all those containers and glasses. And old spices are flavourless and grow weevils. I guess that means they're weevil-flavoured but that's not nice to think about.
Today I'm clearing off my desk and putting the papers and notebooks that serve my current life roles into accessible holders and sorting out those that don't. I have a real fear of discarding paperwork, so I have a lot of stupid shit like training materials from my old career. I will remind myself that keeping this stuff makes it harder to find things like my car title.
Room: Office
Goal: To create a space where I can easily find the tools and information that serve my purpose, without wasting energy and emotion to store deprecated crap from my past
1. Discard one white kitchen garbage bag of shit I don't need from the desk and files area.
2. Get rid of the worm compost bin I was going to set up. Why is it under the desk? Jesus.
3, Consolidate my journaling supplies and put them together in this drawer here. That means cleaning out the drawer first.
EDIT: Discarded one bag of rubbish and the worm bin. Sorted out the journalling stuff into a box but did not make room in the drawer, I'll work on the drawer next time.
