You know, every time one of these crazy people goes on a shooting rampage and the FBI doesn't do anything, people complain that the FBI didn't pre-emptively stop them
 
He owned firearms, yes, but the police admitted that he didn’t seem to want to commit any crimes in the future. He was doxed by antifa on Twitter and they arrested him days after for “suspicion of retaliation against antifa coming to his house.” You heard that right. He wasn’t arrested for any crimes he committed. He was arrested because the police thought that he might commit a crime due to his online activity. He didn’t even make any threats to any antifa after his dox was out there for days, and he was still online during this time. A crime of posting on the Internet. A crime of having the “wrong” political views.
Even then, when you think a violent mob is after you, it isn't illegal to make things more secure.

Bear in mind, being arrested isn't the same as being convicted, you'd have to go to a right anarco-tyrannical shithole like modern Britain for that to happen.
