Therapist Websites - Mental health and you. Are there any reliable sites for therapy?

Does anyone here on the farms know of any reliable sites for psychology and therapy? I know that, I wouldn't use things like Better Help or Psychology Today; as they just care about your money or are just in heavy PC culture.
 
You're not going to get effective therapy online. See an actual therapist if you need help.
 
Online "therapists" are just arm chair therapists that feed you advice like any other person that have minimal interpersonal skills and charge for their uncertified services.
Call a hotline if you're really on edge or ideally seek an actual professional.
I would recommend you a website if I knew but from what I've seen a proper one doesn't exist at the moment, sorry.
 
therapy is a scam and has never worked for anyone, just find a way to let your frustration out. even if you must commit a felony and/or a hate crime, it's better than keeping all that anger bottled up inside your beautiful little head.
 
I've seen an online counselor that combines analysis and therapy, an "analrapist" if you will.
 
The only thing better than trusting someone with your inner thoughts is to trust someone and every device you send it through.
 
OP if you need therapy the internet, despite all its progress, isn't a replacement for actual human interaction. I know with Coronavirus its not easy to organise (and patience is required) but arrange an appointment with an actual therapist.
 
Online sites really can't do therapy. Agencies are doing intakes and therapy via the phone during COVID-19. If your in need of someone you can call your local mental health agency and they can hook you up with a place. There may be a waiting list though so you may need to call a few.
 
For some mental illnesses, such as severe agoraphobia, you may be able to find some online sessions for treatment. Eventually you will have to see a therapist in person though. It's difficult to do therapy over the internet. For a therapist to be truly effective they need to watch you in person and see how you react to things. You're better off going to see one in person.

If you just want general psychology information, you're better off using google scholar and searching key words for what topic you are looking for.
 
Face-to-face is the best way to effectively communicate with another person in general. If you need help explaining your problems, you can always bring something (like a notebook or 'rehearsing' your statement, etc.) in your sessions. With telephones and email, its easy to miss things in context.

Another advice I would give for therapy beginners is don't expect your therapist to coach you on everything, you yourself have to be willing to make changes to better your life and taking responsibility in what you share with them.
Personally I kept fucking up by expecting my therapist to do all of the work for me, then get ass hurt that I'm not "changing" the way I want to.
