I think she has a really bad case of arrested development. She is 22 but acts and presents like a 13 year old which is like very common with furries.

Holy shit, she's the same age as me. I really hope this isn't how I come off to regular people...

There is an old saying on here - "those who think that they are better than the people they cover probably aren't."

You shouldn't compare yourself to others especially cows and/or USERS. It makes it seem you are trying to overcompensate. Alot of us have admittedly fallen for it out of fear that they'll become just like them and I think the best you'll probably do is to leave how you think about yourself out of this.

They can watch adult shows they just don't want to be challenged. A frequent theme with users is anger at things the baby show does for babies and demands for it to be more mature. I was watching user rants on Animal Farm and some understood the book better than actual school teachers I knew. Very few users are actually so handicapped that they couldn't watch animation aimed at teens. Another aspect is the refusal to engage with media on its own terms, you see that in the Ded6 Family Guy video where he criticizes Family Guy like it's an episodic story heavy adventure instead of 24 minutes of gags and recycled Maya assets. I've seen these people do videos on Aqua Teen, Drawn Together, so on and they clearly understand everything happening, they just only want to engage on the same level as Cailou because it's easier. They'll beat for beat explain why a joke doesn't land or why a character sucks and then default to "This thing sucks, you deserve a torture day for being so mean" in a show where they've already stated every character is mean as part of the comedy. I blame the parents, I have family members who can only watch Digital Circus an the age I got into Metalocalypse and stuff because no one pushes them to do anything.
That’s what’s fascinatingly weird about these guys: They take very, very different shit but treat it as though it’s all the same thing.

To you and I and any normally developed person, it's innately obvious that Family Guy and Thomas the Tank engine are completely different shows for completely different audiences. Not to these guys. They like cartoons, and all cartoons are the same to them.

They’re like the adults of my youth who thought La Blue Girl belonged on the same rack at the video rental store as The Little Mermaid because cartoons are for children, but in reverse.

The gradual chudification of Deadwing thanks to the antics of his own fanbase and how similar to Users they are has been one of my favorite arcs.
I started watching in 2018 and he would say all of that shit back then as well, how stagnant he has always been is an actual issue he has and has caused him to do same things that are disconcertingly close to a user implying they stopped developing at 19 instead of 5.

Some users take that statement as fact. I think it comes from their parents who will say this and then watch 12 hours of love island and get mad that Lord of the Rings has character conflict.
Also is anyone here due to the banner I put up two days ago? I haven't seen it appear on the front page yet.
I've seen the banner.

Having looked at the whole thread now, I can probably add a modicum to the 'vocabulary: origins of', question. Which is that their way of talking reminds me of the phrases kids pick up and repeat endlessly, regardless of what decade they were born in. 'Stinky cheese man' and 'pooping from... your butt!' being some real evergreen locutions.

'This user' is how a lot of admin-scripted messages on websites start. Even here on the farms: 'this user limits who may see their profile.' So it may be popular because it's a way to assert authority over other users by using the language of the admin. You see it a lot with siblings fighting, the older one starts calling the younger one a baby over and over, and tries to use sterner mom-and-dad language.

IDK about the origins of 'opinion bashing' though. iirc it was something you'd hear in normal, public conversations around '07-'09. There was a brief period where Millennials had fully internalized 'all my thoughts/facts/ideas are subjective/flawed, and therefore just opinions', so 'stop bashing my opinion' was a real phrase someone might really utter.

Real DeadwingDork fans hear the Rugrats theme playing whenever they hear a user talk.

What's weirder, the man who decided to write a joke about milking a fish, or the people who spend six minutes talking about the aforementioned joke?
I fear not the man who has milked 10,000 fish once, but I fear the man who has milked one fish 10,000 times.

Jackie Chan said that.

I'm genuinely surprised that within User circles the "drinking milk from a fish with a straw" thing did not become one of those bizarre "how the fuck did you find out about this" fetishes that only exist within the confines of DeviantArt. It literally checks all of the boxes needed to become one of those things.

I searched out of curiosity, and of fucking course.

Description:
I saw Surf's Up 2 and I wish I hadn't seen it, but I'll stick with the otter guy, don't ask me why but I like him, maybe it's because he wants to milk a fish... WTF?! (I really don't understand this, but the scene of the fish being "milked" seems to be a double sense XD)

I still think it originates from the DeviantArt forums and Live Journal around the dawn of the 2000s. I found instances of waifu people from the 2000s using it when they would play fight over waifus. You could search a Geocities archive and maybe find older instances.
