Now I'd really love to see every last one of these instances null routed. Learning of the existence of them immediately made me want to go on a crusade against them. That's the kind of person I am. This is all filth therefore it should be cleansed. But the problem runs much deeper than that. I could spend an entire day of my life tracking down the upstreams for each of their hosting providers and putting this in front of the CEOs faces rather than the abuse department that probably won't care. But the solution won't be just getting some shitty website with 200 users shut down.

The screenshot earlier in the thread from "Katie Cruz" made the real problem clear to me. These websites are not just what they appear to be on the surface. A space for these people to justify their abhorrent ways with LGBT and therapy speak. They also allow them to gather together and make contacts. Someone like that who is trying to be on any website that allows anything close to pro-pedophilia speech even if it's pretending to be about "support" isn't just there for that. They're organizing in private chats off platform and they will make sure when one goes down and the next one goes up they will be organized. Simply following them around the internet is not going to be enough.

Why, you ask?

Because in order for a MAP to purchase merch, I'll need their payment processing information. I'll need the name and address of the recipient in order to ship the product. Hell, I'll need all sorts of personally identifiable information that MAPs will seemingly just give me for free, rather, in exchange for a hoodie with some horizontal red, white and blue bars on it. And as someone who doesn't particularly like sexual predators, there's a whole lot I could do with information like that. I could certainly do a lot of things they wouldn't like. The pedophiles would effectively be phonebooking themselves in exchange for a hoodie, and I'd make a profit doing it.

Imagine freely giving personal information to someone who hates you. Nobody would want to do that, pedophile or not. So even if I don't do anything, this post still serves as publicly available evidence that this strategy is being seen and considered by thousands of other Kiwifarms users, which is guaranteed to sow distrust among pediverse users and disrupt funding within their communities. Because if a potential form of monetary support puts you in jeopardy, then you'll be less likely to use it, plain and simple.

You're right, and to be fair I have absolutely zero experience running an e-commerce website, so I'm not particularly confident in my ability to be successful in this. I still plan on doing it though. Despite that, I was hoping the post would would slow down their funding, even by proxy. The notion that I might not be the only one to collect personal information through merch shops should act as a deterrent in itself. But alas, maybe that's just my wishful thinking. Still, there's no harm in giving people ideas on how to fuck over the pediverse, even if it comes off as cringe.

You can probably make a prideflag out of everything. They are generally really pretty color schemes. Probably because most of the logos are pretty generic and are designed to look "child like". It's just common shape + spiral. I wonder if that might have been the point, they could be explained away as something else but that specific rendition would be regonised by someone in the know. The same way you can regonise a website logo that's just a letter or object.

There's some ice cream company that also uses a spiral heart logo and the "any gender" logo looks like something you'd see engraved on a rock in a fantasy mmo.

It's pretty impossible to make an arguement for seperating pedophiles and child molesters without looking like you need your hardrive checked because they are used so interchangeably, but I do actually wish for people who have those urges to have access to therapy. Especially in the case of people who were themselves molested who then start feeling attracted to kids. Anyone who actually touches a kid should get a bullet in the head though. An interesting point I saw someone make was that it in a way whitewashes adults who assaults teens but aren't pedophiles. I can't remember if it was about Epstein or someone else but it was some case of a celeb or other influential fiqure fucking teenagers.

Essentially the argument being that an adult who assaults adults and teens who look like adults probably isn't a pedophile (And I would add, also an adult who is just looking to assault someone but the only one who responds to their messages probably isn't a pedophile), but they are both child molesters. They both assaulted a kid while being much older and psychologically damaging them.

Going a bit further down the rabbit hole of this and another thread it appears to just be their mastodon instance? That nnia thing or whatever it was called. At first I was pretty sad because I thought it was a separate site but apparently you can just alter the layout of user boxes on mastodon instances. Pretty neat. I already figured that they just used some template and changed the text of the user boxes to "age" thing.
