Tokens are small, like a word or syllable. I'm guessing jeet vibecoders didn't set limits on how many tokens the AI inputs or outputs instead of having the AI read only the relevant bits of code and output only the needed code, they are having the AI read the whole code base and rewrite the whole thing when they want to make small changes.

The Black Death forced the nobility to value lives and allowed the plebs to negotiate for better treatment and standard of living. That’s why the establishment wants to bring in tons of people so they could force everyone to live like slaves and suffer.

Late in my reply but this is not historically accurate at all. Europeans and Jeets are not interchangeable and identical. The latter had 2000+ years of severely insufficient central authority and rejected its ancient reform system (Buddhism).
Europe was the opposite and had a long history of central unifiers (such as the church) and wholeheartedly accepted its ancient reform in Christianity.
They would never have evolved in the same trajectory, even disregarding IQ differences. Believing that a disaster which obliterated a quarter of the population forced a renaissance is magical thinking.

+1, even historically this is proven as Poland in large part avoided Black Death and although it was in a really good shape (jeets still cannot comprehend it but it was thanks to sanitation and sewage systems, we figured out this 600+ years ago and Rome even earlier if you take account of dedicated shitting stalls 10/10), it did not change the country into somehow a Wakanda or caused any major shifts otherwise.

India is living perpetually with pestilences thanks to lack of sanitation but manages to skip TJD due to absurd rates they multiplied - sort of like Africa, where to offset poor life expectancy or infant survival rates purely by outbreeding the problem.

This happens a lot and intentionally, when a jeet just throws "please fix bug digital saar" at the models by dumping gigabyte sized crashlogs on them alongside the entire repo. Turns out one of the tricky things about the 'boring gruntwork' they want the AI to deal with is that it involves a lot of sheer data that a person can sensibly pare down, but an LLM just takes it all in.

Those big tech companies ran by true believers in the Singularity? They put "Token usage" as a metric. A key performance indicator. Your raises, bonuses, promotions, et cetera are all based on how many tokens you use, cause more tokens means more productivity, right?

And if there's one thing Jeets can do, it's scam a metric. "Yes saar I am very much token maximuming saar."

I don't know if this is the same story or not, but I heard Amazon had the same situation a few months back. A combination of no oversight, fucked up internal metrics, and an AI company that thought a 2 million dollar a month bill was JUST FUCKING DANDY and not something they needed to email a project manager at their client day TWO and go "uh you know you guys are up almost 67,000 dollars just yesterday, and there's 29 days left in the month to go, right?"
