So at this point it does look like Alberta will eventually secede from Canada, possibly with B.C. and/or Saskatchewan joining them.

Itll be interesting to see what changes, looks like we might get small and cheap asian cars and trucks like the Mazda BT-50, as Alberta doesn't produce automobiles directly so there's no need for protectionist auto regulations. We'll get more pipelines built and can maybe kick out the undesirables like the Torontonians

That would just accelerate the seperation.
And 94,000 people now
The legislation changing the number of required signatures hasn't been passed into law yet, and even then, requires physically verified signatures. None of these online signature pushes (there are several) have any binding or relevance beyond a vague demonstration of willingness.

It doesn't, but when you actually go for the signatures you have only a short window of time to do so and it's easier to get a list beforehand.

I just don't think this is realistic without BC, being landlocked is too big a burden to overcome.
My understanding is that we already have negotiations for trade with the USA, and we'll be able to get a portage route even if we can't strongarm BC into letting us have one. Plus BC will likely break off eventually if the prairie provinces leave and BC becomes the wallet for what remains of Canada.

Who's running this program specifically? I tried checking out the website's 'FAQ' section but it just gives me a blank page.

seems to work fine for me

So, under this, would Alberta become a sovereign state, or would it join the US?
Either way, I hope this passes
I keep reading news about a possible jeet-paki war... imagine all of the rapefugees that would be coming here if it actually happens
Right now we are getting the college educated jeets, who may not be the best at personal hygiene, but at least can speak English and understand what a toilet is.
Imagine if we also started mass importing the peasants who are actual street shitters

I think the discussion is to become a sovereign state. If things start to fall apart we'll join the US, but it wasn't as popular as just seperating

They reduced that number to a total of like 300k, it's something like 10% of the people registered to vote in the last election.
That's only for a legislative or policy proposal. A constitutional one requires 20% or 587,952, and the 20% threshold needs to be met in 2/3rds of all Albertan electoral divisions.
So it'll be a process, but I suppose it's to prevent a crazy Edmonton neighbourhood from speaking for the entire province.
