I love Final Wars, it was a goofy love letter to the Showa era. It's a great stupid Godzilla movie. Sometimes you just want to see a man in a rubber suit beat up another man in a rubber suit and only have it be unintentionally gay.

It was a remake of Destroy All Monsters appropriately dialed up to 28, just like Destroy All Monsters was dialed up to 28 compared to the previous Showa movies

So they are releasing a remaster of Godzilla Destroy All Monsters Melee on Godzilla Day this year. I'm pleased because those were my favorite Godzilla Games so I hope that it does well and they remaster/remake the others. I'm also happy that they've put Showa Mechagodzilla, as it always bothered me that they used the Heisei Mechagodzilla and gave him Showa's attacks (the laser eyes and finger missiles).

Hate remasters, but it's still nice to see this game being remembered. Wonder if they'll do anything with the rest of Pipeworks' Godzilla games. And it's on Godzilla's birthday? That's pretty cool.
If people start making mods for this remaster like they're making mods for the original STE, then I'll consider buying it.

Im sort of toying for a while with a concept I had that mixes the kaiju and sword and sorcery genre (think Conan the Barbarian and Berserk). Its a love letter to both, that seeks to bring their strengths together and create something that dark, brutal but with a lot of depth.

Its meant to follow an Earth abandoned by humans after it became unsuitable for them in the aftermath of an immense "Destroy All Monsters" style battle with an alien kaiju. And now, only the kaiju remain to reclaim it all and how they make a new world from it. How they evolve as now they dont have humanity holding them back, yet cant simply just go back to being just giant animals roaming around and ocassionally having fights with humanity and/or each other, as they have come together to stop an ultimate threat so should they just undo this uneasy alliance, especially now humanity isnt around?

So thats exactly what we get, an Earth that is still suffering the after effects of this battle while kaiju seek to retake it as the dominant species and what comes from it.

Im obviously holding back a mountain of details but does it sound interesting from this very basic description alone?
