Playing Pixel Remasters finally.

Frankly, I think the encounter rate needs to be higher in 1. God damn.

Went with an all-male party consisting of Warrior, Thief, Red Mage and Monk. I think this party would be better suited to Dawn of Souls however but it hardly matters.

Not the biggest fan of the new music. Some of it’s really good but the Cavern of Earth theme is actually bad since it now conveys less than zero menace.
Well, the volcano one is a remix from the FF9 one.
A lot of songs are good, but not every song.
FFV had bangers like Battle on the Bridge and Warriors of Dawn.
FFIV for me is the weakest of all PR versions. But mixing an actual orchesta with a rock band is gorgeous.

The tracks in Final Fantasy 2 are a lot better. The first boss theme in particular sounds great.
Final Fantasy 2 final dungeon theme is crazy good in Pixel Remaster. Try hards aside. Pixel Remaster did alot of things right for most of the games in the collection.

I remember when I saw Pixel Remasters first trailer I thought, "This looks like a shit phone game." But when I played it, it actually blended well and the graphics didn't bother me. The XP and gold adjustars was also nice.

FF2 is my Zelda 2 or Dark Souls 2– I’m strangely good at it.

FF2 is my Zelda 2
It's kinda the black sheep of the single digit FFs, but I still enjoy it more than FF3, mainly because of how atypical the leveling system is. You get a good leveling system and then dungeons stop being dungeons and just become an extension of your leveling approaches.

It does silly things for sure. Like the number of enemies you can fight at once is a lot. And it can lead to a game over if, say, you spam new magic for level ups and get hit by some Giga Nigga Sleep spell that takes 4 rounds to clear.
