Well, to be fair they do have a purpose: to incite a laugh, and a lot of time it succeeds in that goal.

Mostly they're just useless and contribute nothing to the conversation, the definition of a shitpost.

Image reaction spamming is part of why this subforum has a bad reputation and some users consider it "the kiddy section".

I think I've seen image/videos on other forums as well. Although I doubt though about there being that many. Anyway every single post being a reaction image wouldn't be good, but if placed correctly people can laugh.

If a post is nothing but a reaction image/video though, it's completely worthless. The forum's rating system does a pretty good job of letting you react to other users. If you're reacting to content brought up in a post, but you can only come up with a reaction image instead of something to discuss then you're probably not saying something that needs to be said.

Can't argue with that. The reason I think people do that is for extra lulz, but yeah, it doesn't really contribute much to discussion.

I think reaction images are okay for as long as you also have something else to say beyond that, but yeah just posting reaction images can be pointless.

People, save your reaction vids and pics for imageboards. We are a forum meant for discussion, not a forum for "i got a day off from elementary and i'm gonna shitpost jontron gifs."

Basically if it contributes nothing of value to the discussion, then it shouldn't be there. I'm a firm believer of everything in moderation.

Also how long would a post have to last before a double post be considered justifiable @Alan Pardew ? You didn't specify.
I say probably at least 24 hours, since at that point the thread you're probably bumping with the second post is probably close to be swept to the 2nd page of this subforum.
