Can this man (pictured right) really create The Elder Scrolls 6?
I know this is just for the meme but unironically no. I don't think Todd really understands what makes his games appealing and long-lasting, and in many ways, I don't think he ever did.
Bethesda has consistently shifted away from immersive and highly interactive/reactive worlds, bit by bit, until we get to Starfield where virtually everything is static and trying to run off the rails makes the game plant it's feet and demand you get your hands and legs back inside the vehicle or else they're turning it around.
And despite trying to run the apology tour with Shattered Space all it did was double down on this new direction. You cannot kill a single named NPC in Starfield until you are 'allowed' to at an appropriate scripted juncture. Not even Fallout 4 was quite this bad.
Is it really anything like GoT other than by having dragons in the setting? Or are you just repeating the sentiment?
I swear I saw an interview where Todd admitted HBO approached them about making a Game of Thrones game but they decided to just do it in their own universe instead. So kind of. To say there wasn't a pretty obvious influence would be silly given the very overt themes and art direction of Skyrim, that and the shitty Vikings show.
and there's nothing as ambitious as Project Tamriel.
Skyblivion is supposed to come out next year, so there is. Beyond Skyrim is never coming out, though, and the modding scene is absolutely overrun with troon
will say Skyrim is a bit better in that regard.
Skyrim at least has a compelling setting and factions to play with and make a story about. The Commonwealth is a terrible sandbox.
Apparently the Oblivion remaster, if it is even real which I doubt since there have been rumors of Fallout and Oblivion remakes for years now, is being made in Unreal Engine fucking 5. That's a big fucking no thanks from me unless it is exceptionally good.
