There are tons of hawks in the area but recently they've been getting spicy.
There have been a lot of dead pigeons, and about two days ago I was walking my dog and a swooping hawk had dropped a headless pigeon in someone's front yard.
And then this morning there was this:

Big bird news: last year we had pigeons and a pair of falcons nesting in the garden.
This year the bird households more than doubled.
The falcons and pigeons returned to their nesting trees, but in addition there are magpies, crows and a pair of ducks moving in.
I'm hyped.
