As a followup from my post here, people had complaints about 7 but it wasn’t all that bad until the very end when EVO finals started just being Kuni mirrors. 8 started in an ok spot and proceeded to double down on every single thing that people said they didn’t like; and now the whole damn thing is poisoned. At this point I’m just hoping VF6 and Tokon are actually good. They would’ve fixed the game after the S2 shitshow if Bamco actually wanted to.

T7 did have the iconic 7/8 Leroys top 8. I know a lot of the DLC characters were complained about for being OP, Kuni was just the last one. T7 was also the start of a lot of decisions unpopular with the old crowd, from nerfed movement, rage arts, and projectile characters. It contains more Tekken DNA than T8, but I think it also rode off of SFV being such ass and no real other competition.

VF6 there's reasons to be hopeful and cynical. So far a lot of material looks good, but it also seems to have much more "cinematic" than VF has been. Though it just needs to have less downtime than you have in Tekken and it'll be in an alright position. Will remain to be seen.
Tokon depends. Do you like modern Arc-sys fighters? Because so far it really seems like its like the others. As a strive hater, I'm not too enthused, though I imagine it'll be serviceable enough and at least not a discord fighter.

VF6 there's reasons to be hopeful and cynical.

nah, if VF 5 US on PC has only sweaty tryhard chinks with 300 pings phoning home, theres no reason to pick up VF6 unless they have great single player content, but until then i am not giving sega any more money.
