@Null I'm having the same issue. Like is the only reaction I can use, and I'm also using brave. I noticed the issue last night.

I'm based in Australia. If I use a VPN, I can connect straight away to the farms with no issues.
If I do not use a VPN, I cannot get onto kiwifarms from any computer I use.

Are the constant captchas supposed to happen? It seems like every other page I get a captcha.
 
Finally managed to access this thread. Today, via firefox on PC, I can't access any main pages of the farms, just threads already in my browser history. I get "An unexpected error occured. Try again later." Thought kiwifarms.net was totally unaccessible, but saved pages do work. Whatever it is.
update: problem seems to be gone, everything back to normal.

okay hello yes it is me NULL (or Josh if you come from a strange and foreign land)

so here are the recent changes

1. front page chat
after literal years i've gotten around to getting this working

2. per-forum chat
an idea i've had for a very long time is introducing chat boxes on a node-level. the obvious candidates for this are fast-moving, low-content boards: A&H and Internet Famous.

these chats can still be accessed from the dedicated chat page, so you won't need to visit certain areas of the site to get to certain rooms. for right now, A&H's dedicated chat is on the thread index for any registered user.

in the future, I will have this be click-to-expand, showing only the last message (concept below). that way, it's space-conservative enough to put on every page of a board, including threads. Once that is working I will be adding it to Internet Famous and putting it across-threads.

tomorrow I plan on:
1. re-adding the user list. I need to change some shit
2. adding a mod-only /say command that broadcasts between channels (concept pic below)

3. adding a message of the day
4. opening the A&H chat to guests (view-only........for now........) and using #3 to warn everyone people can see what they say so don't embarrass me

I like the separate chats, but I do like how it's on the bottom for the main page, and would prefer all the chats at the bottom of the pages. I dunno, just a preference.
 
I would be inclined to agree with the above poster, if only to prevent having to scroll past it whenever I want to look at threads.

I would also suggest not letting the chat respond to scrolling from a mousewheel unless it is clicked on n some way first.

They might've updated the forum where you can't access off-topic until you've posted enough in the areas you do have access to/been a forum member for a period of time. There's been a rash of spam posters (or at least one very persistent one) recently.

It used to be that way before null updated the xenforo.
