I would strongly suggest a higher contrast colour scheme for the audio control in the bottom of the above screenshot. I dont know if it is me, but I find that the green and grey blurs together. Maybe it does less so on an expensive 4k monitor, I don't know.

An account option that removes any sponsored post that leads the the soyjak party community thread.
I was just thinking about this and its presents quite the dilemma.

On one hand, the sharty users are demonstrating strong support for the farms, and unilaterally shunning them like that could jeopardize that support.

On the other hand, the thread is over represented in sponsored posts and has very limited appeal to users outside of its target demographic.

A possible, and more fair, solution would be to limit how many active sponsored posts can link to the same thread. I don't have the data to determine what that limit should be, one active sponsored post per thread might be too restrictive, but I'm sure Null has that data and his pal Claude can probably digest it into a workable number. My guess is that would probably result in a limit of two or maybe three active sponsored posts per thread.

It has annoyed me as well, but they are playing by the same rules as everyone else
That's why my suggested solution is a universal rule and not a direct rebuke.

We shouldn't treat the sharty thread as the problem, but simply the means by which an abuse pattern for the sponsored content system has been revealed. The same problem could be caused by other threads too.

Hence why a limit to the number of active sponsored posts from any given thread has the potential to be a good answer.

Simple crop tool to edit picture you already uploaded, so you can catch and chop your face/normienet name out withoit fully deleting shit. Maybe allow to show multiple recroppings, for funni posts that zoom in on specific details slowly. Asking cause my phone is fucking dying and its graphic editor (already made by niggers) is causing it to hang and/or reboot.

About a week ago I mentioned that the stickers are mistranslated when the language is changed to Spanish, so here are the corrected translations:

I don't know if this monstrosity 1641253545154.png is used anywhere or if it is even real, but if it is, then I have no idea how to even begin translating it.

If the soytards pay null to have their shitposting sponsored, then it should be sponsored. It has annoyed me as well, but they are playing by the same rules as everyone else.
I agree, the thing that gets me more is people sponsoring posts with a salacious banner about someone raping kids, only to redirect to a post that doesn't refer to the allegation at all much less the page.

Just make a mountain out of a molehill and put it in the community feature submissions thread. That's what it's for.
I think the idea is to renew interest in less populated threads.
Which then may create some intrigue to have someone revisit or investigate if anything has happened since.

But some drawbacks are:
  • That moves the needle closer to Null featuring content on the site himself when he wants to avoid liability for attention most of the time.
  • Randoms will enter the thread and give "She's fat and I would not have sex with her" style comments and leave as with community happenings posts already.
Also after watching Null's Juneteenth stream and hearing him complain about stickers and threadwatching based on stickers as well as being outed as an a glowie/pinko/tankie/sandnigger/chinkostinko/kike agent I'd really like to ask that I am allowed to watch a thread and be notified when a post gets highlighted. It may be admitting defeat on people shitting up threads but I often ignore threads until I feel like I want to come back and exclusively review the highlights like with the Iran War happening thread. If I could be notified of a post getting highlighted since my last visit, I'd return more often.

Ostatnio edytowane:
Would it be possible to implement either small forums or a dedicated tag system that can be created through user requests or payments, provided they're for legitimate discussion rather than low-effort or spam content?

Something that comes to mind is the recent surge of book club threads. Rather than having separate threads scattered across the site for horror, science fiction, mystery, history, and other genres, it would be really useful to have a centralized hub or maybe like, a tag that makes those discussions easy to discover and follow. I would even be willing to pay a one-time fee if that's what it took to make something like this possible, and I think others might as well.

I think KF has the potential to become one of the few places online where people can have thoughtful, long-form discussions about books and niche interests without the problems that plague the larger social media platforms.

For example, I'm heavily invested in the punk scene and literature written by musicians from that era. It's been getting increasingly difficult to discuss those works on places like Reddit or Twitter because conversations are often derailed by people who have little historical context and are more interested in outrage than discussion (as we all know lol) . Instead of talking about the music, writing, or cultural significance, the conversation quickly becomes a repetitive argument over the same controversies.

Frankly, I'm tired of dealing with 17 year old they/he girls wearing $60 Misfits shirts telling me that Sex Pistols isn't real punk because Mr. Vicious wore a swastika once.

A dedicated community on KF would make it much easier to have substantive discussions with people who are actually interested in the subject. Having an autobiography thread would be useful for that. It would also make it easier to keep the other genres together as well and help grow the community.

I have stopped using the landing the page because of the content of many of the sponsored posts. I understand, generally, that KF is not a place meant to be particularly hospitable but I mitigate my Internet usage based on what I think is acceptable for my brain to see and many of those posts are simply not what I want to expose myself to. This is more of a comment than a suggestion.

Considering the number of ridiculous stories coming out of the UK this year, I think a "British Content" sticker might be a nice addition to the roster for the Thunderdome and donor boards. Make it a bobby hat or a billy club with Union Jack colors. I also suggest making :sigh: a sticker.
