My guess is that this was some kind of Anthony Burch-esque "open marriage", where only one partner ends up getting some strange, and the other gets a cold, empty bed. The only difference here is that "the Anthony" in this instance was getting action while "the Ashley" sat at home with the cat. So she gets jealous and starts viewing the open marriage as cheating and it goes downhill from there.

There's no way a cuck like Steve would be pimp enough to call up his side piece right in front of his wife.

I don't think this is the case just because it wouldn't make sense for him to go about it that way. Just by looking at what actually did happen, the only thing those videos did was give his detractors more ammunition against him. They presented more of an insight into their relationship.

God, I suddenly have (assuming this is true in any way shape or form) sympathy for Ashley.

So Ashley quit her Job to help Steve Shives create YouTube videos. So she's going to be reentering the workforce after an 8 year employment gap, and unlike other women doing the same won't even have a family to show for it.

I imagine she'll have some sort of finanical claim on Steve's YouTube channe, and Patreon, So his $1800 a month Patreon is going to have to split two ways.

I was looking through his YouTube Channel and the difference in views between his Star Trek videos and his activist videos is pretty stark.

His election stream video with Kristi Winters gets 1.6K views. While his Deep Space 9 video on whether Sisko was a war criminal gets 43K.

There is a huge audience for content on old TNG and DS9. Not so much for more steaming cold takes on social justice topics. The Snuffy videos are just fucking disturbing and even Bearing can't be bothered to redub them any more.

Shives must be around 40 years old, maybe he just realised that he needs to cut out stuff from his life that isn't working, ie Ashley.
