Finally started with making my way through Brubaker's works after falling in love with Criminal earlier this year, which is my favorite comic book next to DMZ now. Watched a documentary/interview with him that was in my YT feed and started with Sleeper. While the writing isn't bad and Phillip's art is gorgeous this book isn't catching me, like at all. The super hero stuff feels extremely out of place. Gonna drop it for now in favor of Scene of the Crime, the artwork looks fantastic. Also got my eye on Gotham Central. I most likely will skip his super hero stuff, i simply don't like reading cape shit that much, but his Catwoman looks interesting. I will definitely check out Incognito, despite my aversion to super hero stuff, too.
Was surprised to learn that Brubaker was a producer and co-writer on Too Old to Die Young, i watched a couple of episodes of it when it originally aired but never finished the show, gonna give that one a shot again, too.
Edit: Scene of the Crime was quite good. Really liked Lark's artwork in this. The conclusion wasn't as good as i expected it to be but it still was a nice, quick read. Definitely a skill to pack a story like this into just four issues and it not feeling rushed or crammed.
