That will be put to test when the PS6 get released. The PS6 need to hit WiiU level of disaster if not Sony will prove themself right. That will be bad for everyone, Xbox and Nintendo will follow Playstation and it will also effect PC.
At least the Wii U had physical disks and actual games to play (plus free online).
You don't seem to understand. I didn't say complaining impotently in a massive fucking circlejerk for a week. I said being as annoying as fucking possible, for months on end, to the companies in charge to where they can't just ignore it. It's the entire reason Sony's current play is just weathering out the storm because they know people will just eventually give up after a week or two.

I predict the PS6 will sell as well or worse than the Switch 2 because it's a similarly pointless product there's no real reason to own unless you have more money than sense.
You’re really underestimating the amount of Joe Sixpacks who just wants to come home and play his COD and Sportsball games. And there’s a lot of them that won’t get a pc to play their games. They’ll sit on their PS4 or PS5 and not upgrade.
Those guys exist but the diminishing sales on both the PS5 and the XBOX Series X/S prove that they aren't numerous enough to sustain the unsustainable.
6 will sell a lot less than the 5. But here is what Covid taught me, is that consumers will line up to pay over a grand for the newest PlayStation , newest Nvidia graphics card, or newest bing bing wahoo machine.

Jim Sterling spent years bitching about Konami. Konami didn't go back to making games because of a now tranny whining about their business model. They went back to making games because before covid, Japan was trying to reform gambling laws to allow western style resort casinos(albeit with limitations for everything from bet size to number of hours individuals could be there per week) and Konami's pachislot gamba machine revenue took as massive hit as a result since western style casinos would mean western style slot machines, card games, etc. so Konami decided to broaden their revenue stream by actually making games again.
This is true to a point, but only because of increasing hardware costs, and a lack of games actually being produced for these systems. Take a look at the library of something like the ps2, ps3, or xbox 360 5-6 years into its lifespan, and compare it to the library of the current playstation and xbox, as well as the hardware price having gone up instead of a hardware revision bringing costs down. Joe Sixpack still exists, but doesn't want to spend $900 on a box after a half decade that only plays a dozen games.
Most casual gamers aren't even active on Twitter so they most likely haven't even heard the news. And those who have don't care. We saw a demonstration with the BO 1&2 release, the PS Network literally crashed because of the amount of people rushing to buy it. We will just have to wait until the PS6 drops and becomes a massive flop this is the only way Sony will wake up.
Joe Sixpack might exist but since he is incompatible with current year game design, he might as well as be ignored. At least until they fix their development.
