As far as the PS3 and Vita digital stores being shut down, its kind of expected because it lasted 6 more years because People actually did something with thier complaints for once, but even then, it was practically malicious compliance by Sony because they did so little to maintain them compared to how much they maintained the PS4's store that they were actively breaking in real time.


The halting of production for PS5 games on the otherhand is a lot worse bacause they practically have the disc production plants and theres nothing stopping them from contiuing to use them. The only plausable reason is that the japs running Sony is stripping away resources from the Playstation brand/SIE given they burnt billions from live services and buying Bungie to just how incompetent they are at budgeting thier single player movie games and they're trying to ethier wash thier hands of the Playstation brand or trying to relegate it into a legacy brand in the event the PS6 fails, the lack of ownership for consumers and forcing them to rent is just a bonus.
 
Making a prediction, they're gonna start pushing really hard for cloud based shit. It's already been theorized that the handheld model of the ps6 would only be capable of playing actual ps6 titles if it was actually cloud streaming. The fact AAA filesizes are already scraping up towards 400GB and this thing is very unlikely to have anything more than 1TB of storage, and with a 2TB drive currently around $500 when it's on sale, and prices of it only likely to keep increasing, they're gonna use that to try and make cloud streaming games seem like a fair trade off.

I really hope they do because PS6(and the new Xbox, if it follows this route) will burn down so hard it will make PS5 look like a conservative success in comparison.

That's probably how they're going to sell the PS6 with cloud gaming being initally being offered as a means to play games without installing them to the SSD while giving even less ownership than is the case with most digital games (even compared to Steam, given that Digital-Only has been how gaming on PC has been for over 20 years with console gaming only catching up to the worst of PC gaming) before slowly making Cloud Gaming the only option.
 
The geniuses at Sony are killing the most common reason why people prefer consoles to PC. Killing physical media is dumb, but considering Sony has been making retarded moves for a while, it doesn't shock me; they have to cut costs somehow after spending billions on Bungie only to drive Bungie into the ground. If the heads at Xbox were smart they'd capitalize on this, but since they're also braindead, I'm not holding my breath.
 
If I wasn't already sold on abandoning Console Gaming, all I'd have to do is wait about a week for Sony's next fucktarded decision to drop.

I said it over in the GTA thread, while I'm likely picking up GTA6 - I fully expect a disaster at launch, and preordering digital games is fucking stupid - it's almost entirely as a bookend. San Andreas was the first PS2 game I owned, at an age I definitely shouldn't have been playing GTA, bought by grandparents who didn't know any better when they bought me a PS2. The part of me that still gives a shit thinks it would be a fitting bookend to my time on Playstation, even if the rest of me is trying to viciously beat that part with a club...

Nintendo still makes cartridges for the Switch 2, but they are far from the dominant platform currently. Plus, how long can they hold onto making expensive cartridges (which apparently run somewhere between $15 and $20 to make and sell) when no one is even bothering to make cheap plastic discs?

Nintendo does as Nintendo wants, trying to guess what they'll do is a fools game. Unless it comes to lolsuits, they're predictible that way.

Personally for the lazy goyim Id reccomend something like modified Kodi/ Stremio + debrid. Takes less an hour to set up, they dont need to download anything, itd cheaper than any subscription, and 95% of everything they want to watch is on there. Goyim dont care about video preservation so this basically tricks them into not giving money to those corpo niggers

God i fucking hate sony. Local psn store charges me in USD so no regional pricing like xbox or nintendo and because its "regional" in name only, depending on the bank and card it also charges extra 1,9% for international transactions.

Jim ryan ruined playstation in one generation then left after burning everything to the ground

They still suck, the bigger issue has always been though that discs basically just being a key with an installer has been borderline standard practice from literally everyone else. The only real difference is that nintendo requires 3rd parties to label their releases as such, in a pretty unmistakable way.
 
The only thing that kept me on consoles was the physical media bit, guess I will just go exclusively PC gaming again,while picking up some old games for my handhelds in 2028.
