This is why despite not being much of a comicfag, I will always regard late Pre-Reboot Archie and Post-Reboot Archie as what an official Sonic comic should be like.

Speaking of Generations, a lot of people somehow completely missed the point that the time eater wasn't a monster of the week but just a monstrous looking mech Eggman built that way to pull some scooby doo villain shit where he has himself "kidnap" himself to throw sonic off while he works on perfecting it's time manipulation stuff. He straight up explains this shit in the final boss cutscene people quote all the time and somehow it never registered to people. I hope they don't change the ending in the new port/remaster in a way that actually caters to the "Why didn't the time eater betray Eggman!?!?" crowd. Also hope they don't fuck it up like the colors one.

Also all of them have to have the default sonic bodytype even if it makes no fucking sense for them to! One big change with the IDW comics that never sat right with me looking at them from a distance was how they pulled that shit. Like this is a series where even with DiC guys like rotor removed, different animal characters don't always have the same bodytype (vector, big, bark being really good examples) Yet I see some purple knuckles guy and he's supposed to be a fucking octopus, some "shark" that looks like something michaeldragon800 shat out, just seas and seas of generic sonic bodies every time I find out about some "new canon character introduced through IDW".

There was a purple knuckles in Archie when Ian Flynn was in there that wasn't an echidna, but a tasmanian Devil and that was a closer stretch than a god damn octopus. He was also like visibly bulkier too and not just a standard sonic stringbean body and hilariously racist against Echidnas despite looking like one. Forgot a bit about him till a friend decided to go through Archie sonic last year and was sending me highlights.

Seriously this is as close to the actual Games the comics got character design philosophy wise. Wasn't just this guy either he's jut an immediate example that came to mind because both IDW and archie have a weird "purple knuckles that isn't an echidna or knuckles"
