Can someone explain to me why Amy Rose is a playable character?

Not just in this game. I mean ever since the character existed. Why is she there? Why do they shove her into every game?

Seriously, have you seen her original form? The one in the Sonic spinoff game that wasn't apart of the main series.

Who's the lead designer for Sonic Team these days? I bet he's a complacent asshole just like Tetsuya Nomura. Nomura wakes up one morning and draws a stick figure covered in zippers, and SE hands him a check. That's all he ever does, cover shit in zippers. I bet the guy in charge of Sonic Boom just got his stripes and is calling the shots for the first time, but with him instead of zippers, it's bandages. Same shit, different wagon.

Sonic Team aren't actually working on this. I think it's some American studio, which makes sense. Outsourcing Japanese franchises to American developers is what a lot of Game Companies have been doing to franchises they don't give a shit about. See Capcom with Devil May Cry or Konami with Castlevania.

Also does Nomura really just cover shit in zippers? I guess he's come a long way since FFVII.

Ha, that makes sense. At least it'll be bright and colorful then. The Naughty Dog guys were always great at painting a good-looking vista.

Pretty much my feelings with the Spyro series. >_>

Honestly though, even though I'm not really all that enthusiastic about Sonic anymore, I'll keep my eye on this game. I certainly don't mind seeing Sonic go in a different direction for once.

Ah, I don't give a shit. Sonic sucks balls and has for 15 years.

Amy Rose: blame furries and austim. I never really understand SEGA fetish for clamming a new character in every game. Do we really need a new mary sue for every new sonic game?

Unlike the SMB series. Sonic pretty much been a hit and miss for the last 16 year. IMO the last "okay" Sonic game was Sonic Generation which isn't saying much. If you want a good non-genesis Sonic game....the advance series is probably your best opinion.

If any company less well-established than Sega did with their flagship franchise what Sega has done with Sonic, they would have gone under years ago. Sega doesn't seem to realize what a luxury it is to be able to cool their heels in mediocrity.

SEGA is pretty much a shell of it. Without Sonic, their pretty much nothing. I wont be surprised if someone buys them out in a couple years.

Oh god, why did they make that video? I was indiferent to the character but now I hate her. The voice is annoying and it looks like they went with "lol random" humor for her. 9_9 Yeeeeeck.
