Bias in favor of lighter-skinned blacks within black communities. Definitely a real thing at one time though I don't know how formalized it is anymore (I don't think sororities at Howard and Spelman still do paper bag tests but what do I know). If you spend enough time around black people that they forget you're there you will hear them CONSTANTLY talking about "that darkskin girl" etc, it's the first thing anyone brings up when trying to physically describe anybody else.

No shit, racists care about the negative behaviour and social impact of the group they're racist against. Having a positive interaction with individuals from that group doesn't undermine that view. I can say there is a problem with blacks in America without having experience of their rich tradition of uh, calling each other light or dark skinned.

That shit-slinging goes both ways, if they're on either end of the skin darkness spectrum they'll catch shit for it. If they're too pale they're insulted for being 'too white skinted' .. and naturally if they're dark skinted they'll make really shitty jokes behind their back or to their face about being straight out of the cotton fields.
It's like the crap people sling at gingers or really pale people cranked up to 11. Don't know if this also extends to latinos, probably does.

In places like Chile and Argentina, yes, because there's a huge number of people there who are to all appearances European whites and the dynamic with the more Indian-looking people is not too far off from the white/black situation in the U.S. Acting like a light-skinned blonde from Buenos Aires is the same as any other Spanish-speaking immigrant to the U.S. is a great way to cause a hilarious meltdown.
In Mexico, etc. not so much because there was much more thorough mixing over the centuries. The number of "white-looking" people who aren't just first-generation immigrants from Spain is so small that the system doesn't bother accounting for it.

In my experience, they don't care one way or another about nigger blood (as long as you are hispanic nigger and not hoodrat nigger) but god forbid you look Indo; which seems to primary exist as away of Mexico to shit on the guats & durans. But mainly that's been central america. Engaging straight up bavarian phenotyping that would make Gobbels tell them theyreally need to ease the fuck up a little is a thing in South America I've been told.
I used to work security at a meat packing plant. They had a contractor that used argicultural work visas that brought up Guatemalans to work the midnight shift. But I guess someone in corporate decided to explore a bid from another contractor that brought up guys from Mexico. I wasn't on shift at the time, but It wasn't even week and one of the Mexican guys knifed one of the Guats, leading to a big brawl and an entire shipment of meat having to be trashed because of human blood & fluid contamination, and a 24-hour shut down while they sanitized the line and paid emergency rates to get a USDA inspector to recertify the line.
The police report boiled down what had happened as the Mexican being told by the more experienced Guat about where to stand as they were unloading the meat from the trucks a few days before, and then that day deciding that since the guat was "in the mexican area" that he had to teach the Guat a lesson, plus he didn't need to take orders from a fucking indo guat and wanted to prove a point.
Anyway, the new contractor was fired and the old one had to sign a contract with a new clause that effectively affirmed all the workers they sent up on a contract would all be from a single country.
(Guy who got sliced survived, it wasn't bad just bled a lot)
