btw the painting at the start of this episode is literally the tv thing from that old oneyplays episode, I was watching some oneyplays things I hadn't seen before and it was the same plot they were describing for like 2 or 3 episodes. I think if you watched every oneyplays video most of the smiling friends episodes have characters or plot points brought up in those lmao.

Not sure where else to post this, but I saw it on rdrama the other day and remembered that we have a Smiling Friends thread, so fuck it.
A bunch of Newgrounds people made a Digital Zeen. There's a suprising amount that is just dedicated to seething that Zach and Michael are totally hack frauds for getting a show and having fans and shit. It reeks of sour grapes.

IDK who specifically animates for Newgrounds these days but it seemed funny how salty apparently many of them are. Or maybe that's a joke and I'm just not smart enough to get it.

Considering how vicious a lot of the Sleepycast/Oneyplays group were when they were active on Newgrounds, I assume this is mostly just a joke and part of the "2 edgy 4 u" culture and probably triggered by the uptick in zoomers talking about newgrounds only because of Oneyplays and Smiling Friends. An OC chainsawing Charlie is cringe edgy, but I thought KYS followed by "Sponsored by Sharkrobot" was funny.

They worked their ass off creating animations for executives for the best part of a decade while these fags just gooned on discord making their shitty animations that were not funny. You have to be able to animate, make sacrifices, not be retarded and have a sense of humor. Part of me wants to see the fujoshis attack just because I doubt that Zach Hadel would do anything other than mess with them. The fallout on social media would be hilarious.

So far Season 3 hasn't impressed me too much, I notice there's a lot more violence and gore now and it is putting me off a little.

Its still great but I can't help but feel like the show has peaked already.

It is funny to see the salt from those Newgrounds nobodies. It's so crystal clear its jealousy over Zach's success like how dare he progress his craft instead of staying on a dying website.

Hearing Super Monkey Ball hit me like that one Ratatouille scene. The episode was great I feel -- the mothman joke was kinda mediocre but the boss and Allen interactions along with Pim's naivety never fails to make me smile

Yeah, I'm getting a little bored of the same formula of story lines already. That first season really packed a lot in to the episodes and felt like it meant more. You can kinda tell which parts of the episodes Michael came up with compared to Zach. 3 so far is a lot better than 2 but the worst of 2 for me was the constant "realistic dialogue" shtick that they were doing over and over that dragged when I got to the last few episodes.

I would argue it peaked with the Halloween episode this season. As long as we get a couple episodes of that quality per season I think it'll be fine.

I think as long as they keep mixing all the different animations it'll always be worth a watch. They're good enough at slapping a story and some jokes together to let that happen too. Looking forward to more of them, personally.

Good episode. With Mr Boss showing his shit and Pim avoiding some shit only for Charlie to step in it, I honestly thought they were somehow going to shit into mother nature's mouth.

This season seems to be consistently better than S2. There's very little to dislike.
