The funny part is that people are mad at the game creators for whitewashing characters, but they don’t say a thing about characters who were blackwashed. Apparently darkening the skin of characters is a-ok, but lightening skin is punishable by death.

It's never enough that the lighting in Origins was actual shit and most of the time you were romancing Alistar was at night. Alistar has always been a red head with white skin. If you want dark-skinned characters there's Isabelle, Fenris (Lightest out of all of them), Dorian, and Vivianne (The darkest of them all)

Far as the art goes, it's not bad compared to the other pieces within this thread. If the humanized bionicles ended up being more of some spergy mouthpiece or having the generic Tumblr art style, then yeah these designs would be bad SJW art.

How about no.

Never mind the brownwashing, the redesigns are so all over the place they don't look like they belong in the same setting. They look less like a re-imagining of the LOTR franchise and more like a random assortment of traditional clothing around the world. If I wasn't informed this was supposed to be LOTR, then I'd struggle to figure out the story behind it.

I know absolutely jack about Bionicle other than it being a toy line featuring robots, but those pieces look pretty good and competent. Although something tells me these are far removed from the source material.
