Simulation games (IL-2, DCS, Squad, Post Scriptum, Microsoft Flight Simulator, Silent hunter, etc...)
I've gotten down the basic sense of how to fly now, actually managed to get two kills (but that's like, two kills after HOURS of playing). It's kind of frustrating that the simulators insist on making you search forever for enemies to fight,
Some of us who are regulars in gen chat are looking to start doing some DCS multiplayer starting in a couple weeks.
If anyone is interested you can sound off here and we'll keep you in the loop as the time comes closer.
We'll probably just start with the free Su-25T doing surface attack training and possibly some light dogfighting so some of the new people get to try it out without a huge financial investment. If anyone already has other modules they prefer, they're more than free to bring them though.
I've been working with Copilot to scan through Eagle Dynamics documentation and real-world military publications to put together a set of checklists and training for general military aviation (focusing on air-to-ground operations) and specifically the Su-25T.
Does anyone here play IL-2 Battles? Specifically with the Paul Wilson Campaign generator? I'm playing a campaign and one of my pilots are in a JU attack squad. I've noticed that they only seem to level bomb. Will they ever actually dive bomb properly? I've seen comments online indicating that they should, but I'm not sure if my actions are somehow blocking it or if it's an issue with the campaign generator.
The very early Great War planes are very grim. Looking forward to Korea.
Il-2 Korea is now early access. Some reviews and gameplay vids have been pushed out there. I'm much more interested in pre-jet air combat, but this is an interesting period to release a game for.
