Trust me, I'm painfully aware. Looking at the community after I finished the game and wanted to talk about The King in Yellow wasn't an uplifting moment.

Okay, enough malding about space lesbians and enby artists for a moment--do you have nine hours to lose yourself between twin suns and black stars in lost Carcosa?! This was released as a companion piece about two months before the Signalis video, and I believe it's worth every moment, especially once he gets going.

I just got to the fakeout ending. I nearly died of laughter when SUPPRESSING TRAUMA was flashed on the screen. Lovecraft is very good in part because he is very subtle. Signalis sure starts quiet and becomes very LOUD. It's easy to make noise but hard to be thoughtful.

The first three areas are very fun, but I had to force myself to finish the flesh pit area. I still need to trudge more through the game but it's losing me.

Perhaps I'm a philistine, but the setting would be better in an action shooter or crpg. If anyone decompiles the game I might try to make that one day. Though really at that point I might as well try to make my own game...

Finally, as a card carrying member of a particular Stalinist party based in Gori, I am hence qualified to inform you that the Eusan nation functions like absolutely no communist state in history and realistically should be getting plowed and paved over by the Empire. And no good communist would let a woman or homosexual into a position of importance!

Necroposting but its closer to Swan Lake.

Swan Lake, to make it simple, is just basically a cursed princess who becomes a Swan at day, but a beautiful princess at night. A prince meets her at night, is told that the curse can be broken with a true love that never leaves her. So he plans on marrying her. But the wizard who cursed the princess instead tricks him into marrying his daughter (or some shit) which leads to the princess being cursed forever.

The way Swan Lake can relate to the Signalis story is the "Promise" that is frequently in your face through all the glitchy text. The Promise being, and this is my guess, that Elster is to find Arianne and be with her forever. Except in this case it's that Arianne has cancer which affects bioresonance (the source of the infection) which is what corrupted Falke, who was connected to the Kolibiris who in-turn began to infect the others as well. The Swan in this case is Ariane's cancer. The prince being Elster of course. The wizard? It's kinda weird but I would argue the cosmic horror shit that led to the corrupted bio-resonance shit.

Romeo and Juliet would require two sides fighting (we only have the Eusan Nation through you and the Corrupted Replikas). It would fit better if Ariane or Elster were in the Eusan Empire while the other is in the Eusan Nation.

Anyways that is my necropost. This game is pretty fun to me, but the autism of the troons infests it to make things unbearable.

The Promise can be anything really. On the surface, I personally think you are right.

However, the promise was more multi-facted IMO. While true, Elster was to mercy-kill Arianne, deep down Elster does love Arianne because she remembers. It is from here that it becomes slightly more: that Elster's promise was to be with her forever. Hence why during the ending where Elster reaches Arianne and mentions "the promise" that she is wanting to kill herself too. To be with Arianne forever, even despite both of them dead. When the fake-out ending happens (Elster flees instead of fulfilling her promise), we see that she regrets it. Whereas in one of the endings, Elster dies besides Arianne who still lives, and Elster directly talks about "her desire to be by her side to the end".

The timeloop itself is still going on for as long as Arianne lives. As we saw with the many Elsters that Adler kills, the loop continues on.
