I just wonder how we could possibly stop all this shipping, or at least put it back where it belongs, in the closet where they have no influence over the industry. And of course arrest the most lunatic people who send death threats to creators for not fulfilling their ships.

Legit, directors and showrunners just need to become more like professionals and less cliquish/cultish. What the animators do on their own time is their business, but watching production like a hawk is what'll put a stop to it being a forerunner in all these cartoons.

the only way that would happen is if you got the FBI or some other glowies to watch over all of these studios and nobody wants that. And even then who's to say that the FBI would actually do their job and stop it.

OH DAMN, I've been out of KF for like... months? And it shows, I did witness some delicious ship wars and could not report them here for X or Y reasons. (They were mostly from the Bleach and MSG: Witch of Mercury fandoms, so I bet some of you guys have seen it already)

One thing I've always hated is, regardless of the fandom, straight or even bisexual leaning characters are made fully gay, with the female love interest being completely written out of the picture. Nowadays with AO3 and the discourse moved to Twitter, certain fandoms will have a healthy amount of M/F, M/M or both - see Castlevania, Trevor/Alucard/Sypha is THE number one pairing, because Sypha is written so well - and generally they're more relaxed about it. RPGs like Mass Effect, Baldur's Gate or others where your character can be gay, straight or bi has a mix and match. There's a diverse flavor.

I think, over time, some fandoms allow for a more bisexual interpretation (or pan if there are non human characters) but the ones still on "hurr my OTP are fags and nothing else" will still be in certain fandoms. Kpop ones are weird because of the ABO shit. I personally hang around fandoms where there's enough leeway for characters to swing either way and it's natural.

Oh boy, the BKDK fans are some of the most insane bitches I've seen in shipping fandom in the last years. I don't mind shipping Deku and Bakugou in itself, but the utterly batshit of these tittybabies turns me off like whoa. If you though SasuNaru fans were ultra rabid about their ship and are delusional enough to think it WILL be canon, the BKDK fans are like that but Up to Eleven. With a side dish of crocodile tears about Ochaco, how DIRTY they think she's been done and how shipping RUINED HER - because they know she's VERY likely to become Deku's official girlfriend at the very end, and that absolutely terrifies them.

It's even funnier when you see these girls and adult women screech, whine and vomit about how Horikoshi is a PEDOPHILE for the fanservice involving highschool girls (Ochaco, Momo, and lately Tooru), but then they defend fanmade BakuDeku porn with their lives and sob "I-I-IT'S NOT PEDOPHILIA! WE'RE JUST FANGIRLS AND HE'S A PUBLISHED AUTHOR! HE'S A MAN AND WE'RE WOMEN! WE'RE NOT PEDOS! WAAAAAHHHH!!!"

At this rate I want Horikoshi to draw Deku giving Ochaco the mother of Big Damn Kisses on page/screen as soon as it's possible - just to see the BakuDeku meltdowns all over Twitter. I have nothing to lose anyway, since I shipped Todoroki/Deku but never really expected it to be canon and IzuOcha is okay in my book. :story:
