They started playing with this in a SR3 DLC if I'm not mistaken.
Saints Row IV and Gat Out of Hell were originally supposed to be DLCs for SR the Third, but Deep Silver spun them out as separate games to make back the money they paid for the IP and Volition in the THq bankruptcy.

I tried to play Gat out of Hell but it was too cringe for me.
I loved it. They lean into the literary references and Gat has some hilarious dialog. It is meant to be cheesy, and it is, and some people won't like that.

I'd rather play it again than play the reboot.

SR2 is genuinely one of the best games of all time, me and my best friend re played through it using LAN co-op.

I know there's been rumors of SR2 online co-op being patched but I think that's just a pipe dream at this point.

I'd rather play all the games pre-reboot again if i can.

Maybe SR3 and SR4 isn't the same as the first two games but that had charm & soul.

Saints Row, if it hadn't have been taken over by DEI faggots after IdolNinja's death, would have already had "TRUMP GOLD POWER FIST" and "TRUMP SUPER LIMO!" DLC at like 99 cents each and made huge bank off of it.
Funny you say that, Saints Row IV has a Mac Miller song called "Donald Trump." There's a customization pack in Saints Row IV called Presidential Pack that allows you to dress up as Abraham Lincoln, George Washington, Barack Obama, and George H.W. Bush.

Imagine juts the absolute REEEEEEing in Fortnight if you killed someone with a T-shirt launcher or a money launcher, then did the Trump dance over them.
That's a great point. There are celebrity and pop culture endorsements and references sold as cosmetics in video games nowadays. A emote influenced by Trump's YMCA dancing would be relatively easy money since it's proven that people would spend top dollar for stuff like that. But, for obvious reasons, they don't want to attempt that.

Pretty great to play through a fixed version of SR2 on PC with all the DLC. One of my favorite games is now complete and perfect.
I'm surprised it took so long to mod the DLC onto PC, but next time I replay SR2 I need to give it a shot. Always was really gay when they had console exclusive DLC back then, Dead Rising 2 had Case West locked onto Xbox 360 only.

I'd have killed for at any point in SRt3rd or SRIV if the boss snapped back into their old attitude. The first time I played SR2 and did the Julius mission it hit me all at once that we're the baddies. That the Saints at that point are miles removed from any kind of just cause like pushing gangs out of our neighborhood. Even if you only count cutscenes and mission objective kills, the Saint's were leaving huge numbers of collateral casualties. And in SR2 the Boss wasn't some goofy jerkoff that treated the gang like their friends. Basically everyone but Gat and Aisha were afraid of you. I kinda had trouble vibing with it at first but now I'm desperate for any other protagonist to be like the OG Playa.
SR3 works when you consider that a key element is the Saints selling out and fighting an even bigger crime syndicate who wants the gang dead.

Also Dark Action Girl Shaundi is more interesting than Stoner Whore Shaundi.

Dead Rising 2 also had Case Zero as an exclusive, and they weren't included in the remastered version thanks to Microsoft dickshittery.
