Yeah, granted I think this also has to do with many writers not wanting to give the heroine flaws, because then people will bitch about how "unfeminist" she is and what a poor role model she is to kids. Basically Hollywood only wants Mary Sues as leads. I always heard how there's a bigger pressure on writing female characters than it is on males, and i think it's true. You can write a male character as a slob with depression, and people would congratulate you or just not care. Instead, write a woman with those issues, then you're accused of sexist, racist, etc etc.

As someone that does some pretty hideous amateur writing myself, I do get that pressure myself. It's more...I don't know, self imposed, as if the screaming tumblr tards are at the back of my mind. But I can imagine that some of these writers at Disney must be terrified of being shitcanned by the Tumblrites outraged blogs calling them all sexist.

Raz0rfist -- who may or may not be our very own @Le Redditor Part Deux -- has decided to boycott Rogue One to back up white-identity politics:

I could see worrying about Rogue One for real reasons. We've yet to see any early reviews for the thing when there's less than a week before the release, which is usually the step taken before a critical whipping boy's coming out. But for a prequel fan who gave Force Awakens a positive review to flip out now is flat out absurd.

Come to think of it, pretty much every movie has a level of politics. Take that away, you also take away filming too.

You literally listed a bunch of movies by the Jewish conspiracy to corrupt our Purity of Essence. Of course they hate those.
 
The truth is that this movie is gonna be exactly like ghostbusters:

- for whatever it was supposed to achieve at the box office, it will be a failure
- fanboys will claim it's the worst thing ever and it killed the franchise worse than jar jar
- critics will claim it's one of the best movies of the year
- Twitter feminists will say it's one of the best movies of the year but won't pay to go and see it
- it's just gonna be bland boring and generic but nowhere near as bad as people claimed it is

Comparing Star Wars: Rogue One to a dull Ghostbusters reboot, especially regarding box office money. :story:

Also are some people such exceptional individuals to believe that one cannot enjoy a movie these days without having an ulterior motive for doing so?

Because that is deeply exceptional.

Star Wars attracts autism like shit attracts flies.

Also, Mara Jade was not a smuggler. She was a dark Jedi/Sith. These guys need to autsimu harder.
