i havent seen robot chicken in years and i never even heard of homestar until now. i dont give a shit about what a fandom says about this.
 
It really seems like the tracing is just an afterthought to most of these people, and their main concern is that Seth Green filmed himself personally killing the Brothers Chaps and taking a shit on a picture of Homestar Runner made a sketch of debateable quality and they can’t stand anything from their childhoods being debased because they’re immature.

The Chap Brothers have been doing stuff with it sporadically lately, probably just some stuff thrown together in between their paid work. Ironically, they uploaded a puppet video right before Christmas, which looks way more charming than what a decade old show owned by a major network did with stolen flash assets.

Besides that, I'm just as baffled as to why they decided to take the effort to trace something and animate it in like the original property, and then parody it in a way that really has nothing to do with the actual source material, and could of been a dozen other properties.

I still remember when people were pissed about how they handled the TF2 Robot Chicken short.

Anyway, "Everyone gets shooted in the face and add Trump joke" is the laziest shit writing, and ripping off assets is the laziest shit production. That was Newgrounds-tier.

Here's some locally sourced salt because I'm bored;
I can't believe there is someone out there who has a real job in the animation industry when they can't even draw Homestar Runner, he's basic shapes with no arms; who needs to trace that? You can probably draw him in MS Paint.
 
I see that some fans are upset because RC didn't ask for permission to use these characters and the original creators didn't receive any money for it. Tracing aside, do you have to ask if it's for a parody? If not, are you still supposed to pay them? I could have sworn we went over this like two years ago with IHE when he had to explain how copyrights work after his channel got hit.
