I had no idea he was a veteran, although I knew he did do USO shows; l wish I had learned about his service earlier.
But I've always known his music, along with his contemporaries. As a little kid I remember hearing it on my grandparents radio, an uncle or cousin would drop a single on the record-player during family parties, or it was something that always played in the barbershop whenever I went.

I'll never understand why this woman was so critical of the Catholic church and denounced pedophilia in the Vatican and then turned into fucking Islam.

I'm not surprised. In fact I'm surprised Sinead lived as long as she did, as she was obviously very unwell. Whilst the death of a child would take a toll on almost any parents, most parents' first reaction wouldn't be to join their child so soon, and it seems like he was the only thing that kept her going.
Hopefully they've both found peace.
