On the one hand, this is probably for the best. As Meyer's indie career grows, proving damages becomes a dicier prospect, and by now he's at a point where he clearly doesn't need the money and probably just wants it to be over. Were I in Meyer's position and I heard that Waid was finally willing to settle, I would have probably been eager to do so too.

On the other hand, it means that Waid is gonna get away with this bullshit. This and the Vic case are cases that are larger than just the people involved. What we want is to see people start giving a second thought before they start "cancelling" people over clear lies.

I was actually tempted to contribute to Meyer's LOLsuit at first. Now I'm thankful I didn't. This sucks for the people who thought he'd fight to the end. I wonder if he got any settlement to drop it. I'm thinking "no".

Originally Meyer was going to do this with his own money. He said all the right things about not letting this happen to someone else, holding Waid accountable and so on.

If he managed to get a public apology out of Waid for his supporters who financed the LoLsuit that would have been something. But this is less than nothing.

Waid is not held accountable, no apology, no restitution we know of and the next asshole who decides to cancel a creator who liked Trump or thought there are only 2 genders won't think twice because Waid 'got away with it'. Whether Waid had to shell out to Meyer (I doubt it) or not we'll never know but if Meyer negotiated a cash settlement without an admission of guilt then he fucked over his supporters taking their money and then selling out their interests in return for Mark's money.

This result is gayer than two guys fucking.

The conterPoint to this is Sargon vs Akiilah husse & hulk hogan vs gaker media where you got the money doesn't matter all that matter is that you have damages.
 
Meyer letting go would be acceptable if he hadn't made statements a few months ago about going all the way because that's what the fans paid for. Consider this an unfulfilled campaign.

Can someone find that clip. I don't know which video it would have been in. It wasn't that long ago. He even promoted his patreon to help with ongoing costs.

Yes but on the alternative side.....its impossible to actually GET Justice. I'd take more lawsuits if Justice is actually possible
 
So disappointed. I figured at this point Zack was in a good place in the suit. The only thing I can figure is that maybe Ya Boi has something really big coming up and wants to calm down the REEEEEE! Machine
 
My guess is that Waid gave YBZ a juicy amount of Go The Fuck Away & Shut Up Money, and he took it since raising his very own Benetton ad costs Zack a lot of cash.
