It is not that strange. Anarchism is leftwing. That government free zone they set up when the nigger got shot (in washington i think? with the 5 vegetables growing on a black tarp) is the left wing version of libertarianism. You see the same with pirate parties in europe. First it was a mix of libertarians and communists. Computer technology would eliminate information scarcity. Then everyone could self-study and be enlightened. The communists thought everyone would end up becoming communist proles in a post state world, while the libertarians would think everyone would be organized by the power of the invisible hand.
