Redditors always react very poorly to losing an argument. Whether it's pulling up post history or going full baby and calling you names. A couple years ago, I was on r/characterrant arguing about Elden Ring and this guy kept trying to hit me with these moral panic gotchas about genocide or some shit. When he saw I wasn't budging, he got all smug and replied with "Oh so you just want an echochamber." I'll admit it, that got me. Oh my God. This is amazing. It's a 'man' that women can't socially destroy. It suffers zero consequences for calling them crazy and telling them to fuck off. Iirc a big reason for why ICE has to do these direct enforcement actions that can easily turn into bad optics is because ICE used to be able to rely on big city police departments to do most of the work of apprehending illegals with ICE just processing them and sending them back to their home countries afterwards. Then during the Obama admin the whole “sanctuary city” nonsense started which had the knock-on effect of making direct federal intervention necessary since the local cops couldn’t or wouldn’t do anything. People pointed this out back then that it was a bad precedent to set, but of course those critics were dismissed as “being on the wrong side of history”.
