Stunning and brave teacher saves their students from evil transphobic parents. Apparently this post was worthy of whatever reward system preddit has going now that's why it's gold
I am a band director in a very conservative state in the U.S. I started a new job at my school this year and I love it overall. I teach 6-12 Band including marching band and have the best students I could ask for.
One of my students is trans and when I first met them, gave me their self given name. I don't mind using nicknames for students, so I just went along and called the student by this name not thinking much more about it for several months.
What I did not know: the parents of this child DO NOT support the child's trans identity. If I had known this, it would have prevented much of the drama that eventually ensues. I will call the mother of this student parent A.
A different parent, let's call parent B, helps the band A LOT but shares parent A's dislike for trans people. Parent B eventually finds out that I am referring to a student by a name that is not their birth name and that name is connected with their trans identity. Parent B then tells parent A everything she found out.
Parent A goes on a rampage, grounding her child, calling the school board, saying her child is possessed by a demon and not to support ANY trans identity they have. I get a call from my principal telling me to just refer to the child by their birth name at the parent's request. I agree. But things get much worse.
The friends of the trans student get very upset that someone told parent A. They start sending angry(almost bullying) texts to the child of parent B on the day of one of our competitions on the bus. I was made aware of it quickly, spoke to the students, and it ended soon after.
However, parent A and B found out and decided to take matters into their own hands. When we got back to school from the competition that night, parents A and B were waiting right at the bus door. As the students were getting off the bus and packing their stuff, parents A and B said "Friends of (trans student) are NOT to leave this bus yet." Parents A and B then hold said students hostage on the bus, screaming at them for bullying and for supporting demonic influence on a child.
I did not stop them soon enough. They went on for several minutes before I intervened. I failed my students that day. No student should be yelled at by parents who are not their own. That is not appropriate at all. I apologized to those students that night and they said "It's okay, those two don't scare us." The next Monday, my principal found out what happened and wrote me up. I felt like I deserved it because I did not do enough to protect my students from these parents.
I learned many valuable lessons from this and I hope you all can gain from it as well!

It reminds me a bit of the disgusting colour they picked deliberately here in the UK for all tobacco/cigarette packaging. It's not the same though, it's a bit lighter.

So I found out the reason r/WorldNews is so barren these days. Turns out if you say anything even remotely against the current narrative, the mods go into attack mode. I made a post on a thread about you-know-who finding a tunnel under a graveyard that they just so happened to be demolishing as a test. I said "Convinient" and not even 10 minutes later I was perma-banned. That sub has actual fucking Mossad agents moderating it, I swear.

We’ve been together 7 years now. I’ve seen him get emotional, seen his eyes water, and we’ve shared so many intimate, traumatic experiences.
I’ve been playing Baldur’s Gate 3 alongside him for months now, and I’ve rarely seen him so invested in a game.
But today we infiltrated a devil’s realm of hell. I’m not big on RPGs like he is, but it was clear this was a pivotal point in the game. There was even a disclaimer asking if we wanted to continue and that this part was hard as fuck basically.
I watched him navigate the halls with this gleam in his eye I’ve rarely seen. Then, at the climax of the hell level, the guy who’d been tempting us with Faustian bargains the whole game finally appeared, infuriated we’d trespassed in his home, freed his Hope and murdered is doppelgänger-gimp.
When the music played, and the hell-minion we’d influenced weeks earlier in Shar’s Temple decided to fight by our side because he respected our strength, My husband paused the game. He set his controller down, closed his eyes and just sobbed. Admittedly it rattled me a bit.
I’ve seen him at funerals, we’ve watched tear-jerking movies dozens of times. But he showed the most raw, unashamed emotion I’d ever seen from him.
It took about 5-10 minutes for him to calm down and be ready for us to continue. But no way I was glossing over that without asking .
He told me this game brought him back to 2009 when he first got Dragon Age: Origins. 2003 when he first played KOTOR and Jade Empire. It was a dark time in his life and RPGs became his refuge. He showed me this meme and said it encapsulated why he was so moved by this game.
Playing through BG3 brought him back to that. The feeling of newness, exploration and discovery, the freedom of choice to be what he wanted to be that he’d never had the opportunity to do in his youth. BG3 recaptured that for him, took him to a place when epic adventure was his only respite in life. And he got to experience that again and share that alongside the person he loved most.
We both ended up crying together for a while, just so happy we could have this experience together and that that the magic of a new and amazing game wasn’t lost to us in adulthood.
Then we dried our eyes, hugged it out then fucking murdered Raphael in our toughest fight yet. Then we went to dinner to celebrate our final side quest before endgame. Together.
Bonus: AITA for fucking punching a kid in the face? What makes this one fun is how deranged the op is in the comments but it's a rare story where even predditors realized it's fake

I 17 female recently attended a family members wedding and here’s where it went wrong. (There was a woman with a child that kept screaming at the guests bc they didn’t allow him to touch them on their private places). We were sitting down listening to the important guests and family members give their speeches when the 5-6 year old little boy who kept trying to touch everyone’s private places squeezed my breast out of nowhere rather harshly when I wasn’t looking, and obviously my reflex would be to punch whoever it was that was sexually assaulting me, but when I realized I punched the little kid he started screaming and his mother came over screaming at me and tried to attack me she called the police and kept screaming at them to hurry up and hung up on them. When The police arrived and viewed the footage that the staff members showed them, the bride and groom informed the police that they didn’t want the child or the mother anywhere near them or the wedding venue ever again because the child kept constantly harassing everyone and making everyone uncomfortable while the mother ignored everyone’s complaints and sat there feeling entitled. The police then escorted out the screaming woman and her creepy screaming son and told the bride and groom that if they would like to press charges for emotional distress then she had to contact her attorney and go from there. From then on the wedding was amazing and the bride and groom had an amazing time playing games and drinking a lot. So, AITA for punching the little kid in the face?
