The COVID skit was funnier than the review itself.

When RLM likes the movie, they often find themselves just repeating themselves in how much they like it.

That's why I crave negativity from them, lol.
Negative reviews do lead to teachable moments. This review is them saying, "Whatever, it's fine, I guess." So there isn't anything to learn or admire, which also makes the review unpersuasive.

EDIT: Another reason why it's so unpersuasive is that Jay's take is reductionist. "It's a James Gunn movie with minimal studio interference." Well, what if I don't know that much about James Gunn or his background in Troma films? My assumption as a potential movie-goer is if I liked the GotG films. So if I liked those movies, that might persuade me to go, but if I was ambivalent then, I'm going to be ambivalent now.

I am surprised this movie flopped. I got superhero fatigue, but people still simp for MCU and this movie did seem like it was a half-way point between Synderverse and MCU.

I'm guessing that specific clip from Super triggers the bots.

The Matrix Trilogy would be perfect for Plinkett, especially with the fourth movie coming out.
Mike teased that a long time ago. Almost a decade I think. He only does Plinkett reviews for franchises he likes so him watching the 4th one might trigger it to happen. Because there's no question that the 4th one is going to suck.

The video got pulled down.

What a :story: if it turns out it was because of Mike talking up NPR and they got pissy. I'm betting it was with the music or Marvel being claim happy.

I need to rewatch the Matrix follow-ups, remember nothing about them. But the best movies for Plinkett reviews are the messy ones with lots of ideas that don't work, rather than the worst movies ever made.
Trust me, "messy with ideas that don't work" fits the Matrix sequels to a T.

It's back up.

According to the comments the differences between this and the original upload is that the shot of Pete Davidson with his face blown off is now censored, and the shot of King Shark ripping someone in half was removed.

That and Mr.Plinkett do a Nazi salute in the middle of the video, he was supposed to be tied up but yet it cuts to him on the chair throwing his hand out so that was weird to start with

They took a big risk with that joke and it didn't pay off

Rewatching BOTW in a random playlist got me thinking. Has anyone done a six degrees of separation for BOTW actors?

Like Hard Ticket to Hawaii has that guy from Killing American style and the "Cuban Ted Danson" who was in that one movie about a drug war (can't remember the name). Then you got Cameron Mitchell and James Doohan.

Its a big interconnected web after a while.
