Specifically it refers to the dynamic of male/female interactions when initiating a date or similar social activity, and what goes through the minds of each party in terms of negative consequences. Men are afraid that they will ask a woman out and she will say "no" and laugh at them. Women are afraid that if they say no in any way that isn't a gentle letdown, the man will become violent and kill her.

It's... hyperbole, yeah, and I doubt it's something that's consciously acknowledged by either party, but the point is to illustrate the difference in sheer physical power between men and women and how consequences for one can be vastly more than for the other when interactions go bad.

It's a metaphor, is what I'm saying.

I found this in IDCP's blog, but it's not original content by her so I'll post it here. Apparently Samus Aran is not a woman, but a tranny. We know this for a fact because one graphics engineer made a joke years ago.

Wasn't "that-one-game" that revealed her gender the very first one?

Anyway, it's amazing that they can acknowledge how offensive that joke is and yet take it as anything more than a joke, and with such conviction. They're chomping at the bit to turn everyone into transgender characters, even latching on to jokes that mock real transgender issues.
It really goes to show how tumblr social justice politics is just a game of choosing what cause you care about the most. If it were the feminists, they'd be complaining about the implication that a strong female character can't just be that. But since it's transgender kids, they actively ignore that and push their own theories as absolute truth.
People on tumblr don't actually care about other perspectives, and this is just another case of it. Everyone's too desperate to put themselves and their cause on top.

In the end, Samus is just a little girl who was raised by alien bird people. Next thing you know, they'll be calling her birdkin.
 
Started reading through this thread because I had a feeling one of my posts would be here. It is. I'd elaborate more on it because, admittedly, I didn't do a very good job expressing what I was trying to say, but that would reveal my url and I'd rather not have that happen.

But just so I'm not posting without contribution, I'll leave y'all with this. I haven't gone through this whole thread yet, so if someone else posted about him, my apologies.

His url was ph4u57. He was pretty much the textbook definition of SJW, yet he constantly did things SJWs typically condemn, like calling women "bitch" and "cunt". I'm not sure if this all belongs under a spoiler, since I'm not posting nudes or whatever, but sexual content is discussed. If I need to put it under a spoiler, let me know.

Apparently, the only way he could get off was by watching porn of women being abused/raped (whether real or scripted, I don't know). Not very SJW of you, ph4u57. And if you told him that was fucked up, he'd cry ableism.

And this is just plain creepy. (Context: straystormseeker was his ex, and she had been trying to get away from him since their views on things changed drastically, and he found her new blog and proceeded to send her a bunch of creepy messages like this.)

He also admitted to being a pedophile, and shortly after, his "brother" posted a suicide note, but nobody believes he actually did it. Pretty sure it was just for attention and to get people off his back. Here's a link to his archived posts.

Honestly, he probably deserved his own thread here. He was a pretty nasty dude.
 
What annoys me is that they try to force the trans representation all the while ignoring canon trans characters. This might be spergy and I apologize but I haven't seen a single tumblr post appreciating the character Krem from Dragon Age, who is a transman who dealt with real issues of being trans with his family and country and has found supportive friends who will defend him no matter what. Yet there are blogs dedicated to saying Fenris is a transman like fuck off. These people will never be happy.

Thing is, it always has to be the blogger's favorite character who's *~totally canonically~* trans/autistic/fat/schizophrenic/whatever. If it's anyone but that one character they really dig, they'll ignore it and yell at people for not accepting their crackpot headcanons 'till the cows come home.
