I saw this, and god knows we've had plenty of "such-and-such character is gay/trans/into DDLG/neutoisgender, I don't make the rules UwU" that it should be here in addition to the shipping thread:

People on tumblr really need to learn about identifying with the character as that's literally what they're experiencing when they say this shit. Protagonists in particular generally have to be easy to identify with. So just because you see your personal struggles in a character doesn't mean they were written as gay 100% guaranteed. They were written as identifiable with the viewer.
