Maybe it's more because gay men want to watch films about gay men and not about lesbians. Instead of misogyny and this isn't the first time I've seen women call gay guys this. Aren't these the same women who claim they don't want men in their space? That they don't want men to speak for them?

It's not tumblr but it's tumblr logic: Japanese art style can't be used to depict Japanese people. Not enough yellow skin or slit eyes for the "woke" crowd.

The irony of this argument is that SJWs who insist that Japanese people have to other their own artwork to avoid accusations of white supremacy are, once again, demonstrating how profoundly parochial and informed by a white-majority culture their worldviews are. To a Japanese audience, Japanese faces are default - a face with two eyes, a nose and a mouth and no other modifiers reads as Japanese to the Japanese regardless of what color their hair is or how wide their eyes. Their own signifiers for othering a face or a character design are completely different. The trendy-progressive Western idiots who keep wringing their hands about how problematic it is that anime characters look 'white', because they don't display all the white Western markers used to make it obvious that this face is not the default, are displaying their own cultural biases by insisting that a basic face is white and cannot be read as anything but white. Because that's how it is in the States.
