If taken literally, maybe he really does like big rooms, like maybe going to basketball games or the movies.

It could also be a reference to claustrophobia; he likes big rooms as opposed to small rooms.

I think the most probable explanation is that Chris is being Chris and is just pulling out sinister sounding things out of his ass without justification or clarification.

Exactly what I was thinking, the big rooms thing is most likely related to BlueSpike's fake identity. And no, it wasn't revealed by Chris; I'm unaware if anyone managed to find it out on his own.
