It is simpler than that. Chris has an idealized version of the IP that fits into his world. He dislikes the new Ducktales (which is a kids show for actual kids, not loser fat losers who watch kids shows instead of working) because it changes the property to make it clash with his imaginary world. It the same reason he hated blue arms or whatever that was about. The new Ducktales strongs up the lady character because girls rule or something. Chris should love that. The caring nanny is now a strong martial arts "c-word" or something. Feminism wins!I think I know why Darkwing Duck being demoted to simply being an in-show cartoon in the new Ducktales is rustling Chris's jimmies.
Its because of his whole "Cartoons really exist in another dimension" mindset. He thinks that the Darkwing Duck parallel in his mind wouldn't want something like that to happen.
That being said, Chris is a moron who takes cartoons too literally and because of that, he doesn't see why its totally fitting for Darkwing Duck to be a "Show within a show" now. In the original cartoon, the whole point was that Darkwing Duck was arrogant, full of himself, and didn't even have super powers, yet he thought he was the shit and the city couldn't sleep without him. That totally sounds like someone who wishes he could have his own Tv show.
Chris accepts changes that he likes. He even makes them in his "creations". He loves stealing. He loves retconning to fit his current psychic link cartoon dimension world. I am sure he would have no trouble with a Ducktales where the kids became lesbian transgender nieces who get all the pony pussy they can handle even if that kills off Huey, Dewey, and Louie.
