That is the exact moment when someone in the european team said "In the North we are doing fine"
Yeah there was some sperg doing pings in Northern Russia the whole time, probably the same sperg who sent his whole army to Murmansk to sit out the war and then lost it.

But these players are shockingly worse than the other set. As I've said before, it was obvious what he would do because he went Putinism with a Human Face. They agreed on the rules, and the NATO side could have gone "no rushing", "must finish focus tree before war declarations". - Just like they could have agreed on strat bombers like they should have done last time. It is just that Grisha knows the mod, and anyone who did knew what would happen. It's the same with LPDR.
They still had a full year to prepare between Anton's news event and the actual wardec even but threw it away with those catastrophic, poorly executed invasions. And then they decided to cope and hold the entire area so that he could just walk over their green 31 attack IFVs to the sea for free kills. They also spent so long yelling about things that should have been done in a day, like factory assignments and research slots. If you told me Grisha had handpicked them to be as incompetent as possible I'd be inclined to believe you, it almost could not have gone better.

They went down a path that allowed them to core everything from Portugal to Sweden the last time I checked. Meanwhile Alikhanov get's a bunch of debuffs.
Alikhanov gets the benefit of being able to go to war incredibly quickly. If they wanted to be cheesy they could have used spies to cause resistance in Eastern Europe (stopping Russia from coring stuff, so they can't progress in their focus tree). But, it takes Europe time to be ready for war and France's stockpile gets fucked because of them tag switching and having to go down the process of the civil war. Alikhanov benefits from the previous scaling as western Europe is fucked from supply.

So, the debuffs aren't crippling when considering the division quantities.

Plus, their plan was in a bad place because Germany didn't even try to get air stuff. They had the time to have the research at least prepared (proof that they either intended to win the first round or not know that Grisha would have done the rush strategy as it is that strong, and is critical against Europe).

Europe's Naval fuck ups are interesting, but cannot be considered fully their fault as there is a chance of crashing with the naval ship designer (navy is in a bad state in the mod). Had their navies been used to get superiority in the Baltic + black sea, they would have been able to prevent the naval invasions, and convey raid.

Yeah, and this is proof that they really don't know the mod. Only one of them noted what Grisha was doing by stating it was a memey strategy. There was not much they could do. Mountain General for example had been awol because college. And we don't need to mention the French player, as yes securing Murmansk in real life would be a massive victory in fighting the North Sea/Barents Sea front. However, this is a game and Russia's nuclear northern strategy isn't modelled.

Summary of the 1 EW so far:
-Grisha slowly microed Ukraine, as to loose as less troops to Ukraine as possible
-Otto (Germany) managed to go out of a equipment decifit due to Grisha's slow invasion
-Grisha didn't fully defend his borders with NATO until shorly before they entered the war, as to not reveal his actual strength
-Otto lost half of his army in the balkans 30 seconds into the war due to a naval invasion near Kalingrad by Grisha (they forgot to garrison the ports AGAIN)

-Gunther "I think I need to call Bibi Netanyahu to save us", "President Trump help us! President Trump if you can hear us!"
-Otto in utter denial
-They only front NATO is winning in the first months is in Murmansk
-Fumychev is talking about gaining a foothold while his troops get encircled

Gunther deserves better teammates.

I'm looking forward to Grisha's analysis of this match because I wouldn't be surprised if nothing was learnt from the last one.

Another example of something that should've been considered for being banned.

How do people keep forgetting to do this, even the HOI4 AI isn't this dumb.
Ah-em.

I've been thinking about what VW defeat Russia should look like and the leaders it should feature, it was meant to be a scenario for all defeated Russias so I wanted to have an element of every regular Russian warlord present akin to what After Midnight does. Limonov was a must have so I went searching for images of the man during the 80s and discovered this image.

Somebody was planning on adding Limonov to Tomsk in November of 2020 it seems.

Happy operation barborossa 85th anniversary. 3:30am CST is the middle ground between the start of the air campaign, and the start of the land campaign (air begun at 3, land was at 4).
Today let us remember the height of militaristic hubris, all the people who died because of it, consider the potential realities the campaign could've created if it had succeeded and how we can reenact it in a Swedish grand strategy game with a ridiculous DLC business model 85 years later.

Took a detour down to make some brief fixes I probably should have made ages ago. Italy aligned oil crisis nations will now join Italy's faction should they win their civil war. Egypt will do the same after they invade and reannex Sudan. It's not exactly a brilliant new addition, but Italy could use the help. UAR can also invade Sudan. (I hate Sudan).

Also noticed that Oil Crisis OOBs for most tags are pure infantry which explains why the AI is so passive. Gave them some support arty in the hopes they can attack more.

Kiwi Farmers, rise up! We'll make a new team in the name of Cheese, Zog and TNO:RA! We'll probably do better!

>Ze Fuhrer... needs me?
>For Heydrich... For Europa... anything

Amen to that, let us all drink our cups, as a toast, to our great Swedish company who only demands annual tributes based upon the games, histories we play upon. But, Sweden has fallen and that is so.

While I was fucking around in debug and updating a few things to take into account some minor map changes, I unearthed this absolute relic of a tooser tree. Behold, the RK Amerika Tree, a true monument to the arrogance and fakery of old TNO.

It is, of course, totally uneffected, without descriptions, for a country that is supposed to be impossible to form legitimately. It, however, does have some funny ideas.
Surely this was a great use of dev resources and time. Speaking of Extremely Good Uses of Scarce Time...

I localized the Co-Prosperity Sphere and Japan (as Germany is already) and gave the two NRA remnants a tint of blue. The War Area name is a bit strange but it's more interesting and possibly more accurate than naming them after singular army commands. These particular ones did not exist IRL- The NRA seemingly only created them for areas in which fighting was actually happening. I localized China's name as well because they are technically a major. I considering using the Japanese romanization because it would be funny and humiliating (with the idea you'd move to the Chinese once you'd modernized a bit) but decided it was excessive. I'm open to feedback on the country names though. The actual important work right now is finally updating the OC tree to not be a gigantic pile of trash, though.

Tbf empty trees are pretty easy to make. I could recreate it from scratch over weekend .
RK America was part of Goëring content. It was impossible to get without cheats , because of Nuclear war.
Also if I remember correctly Pink Troonzer put himself as Reich Kommissar of US.

I would prefer if only Japan had the transliterated name.

They built an airforce and maintained green air for the entire 1EW IIRC. So good job!

I think a lot of this is down to the LARP. Nobody on the EU team has played their countries like Grisha has played Russia. We need to find the most innane Francefag and Germanyfag to ever walk the earth to actually have a shot at taking Grisha, the most innane Russiafag of all time.
