I find it funny when men (it's usually men as they're trying to act macho) sperg on about how much they hate cats and they're primary reason is because they're not the same as dogs. "Fucking cats are stupid. They're assholes and why would you want to get one when you could get a dog? What can you do with a cat? They're gay as shit. Get a dog ya fag!"

Like the utter retardation about hating a species of animal because it doesn't have the exact characteristics as another species of animal. It's like saying bananas are shit because they're not hamburgers.

In general, I find it really annoying and distasteful when people look at living, breathing creatures with brains akin to infants, and think they need to be treated like tools or toys, discarded if they're "annoying" "not useful" or just generally not doing what you want. It isn't an object and it isn't an extension of you. It's a living creature with its own wants and needs.

It's a symptom of narcissism culture, which is rampant on Reddit. If something doesn't benefit ME ME ME NOW NOW NOW then it's garbage and should be discarded. This is why self-worshiping sociopaths treat abortion like it's akin to throwing away refuse. A fetus (or a dog or cat) doesn't do anything for them so it's okay, even funny, to kill it. A sane person might think abortion is okay in certain circumstances but still feel bad about it. These people think it's hilarious. They're dangerously mentally ill.

I've found in my experience it's also men who are really overcompensating for their manhood because their dad never came home. So everything is done through a lens of being as manly as possible and so they'll get a pitbull and a Harley to compensate. In a way they're also retarded consumers.

It’s understandable to dislike dogs, but for a few of these people just disliking dogs isn’t enough, they obsess about it and make it part of their identity(at least online.) Some of these people are like that channel and those commenters and enjoy videos of cruelty. I assume they’re keyboard warriors just venting in a weird way but it’s strange behavior.

I have to wonder what makes these people these way, why are they not content with just disliking dogs and moving on? How many of them have been bitten by pitbulls? I also notice they use these phrases as “slurs” for dog owners, like nutters, like how the childfree libtards call parents “breeders” and kids “crotchgoblins”. Are they trolls that want to provoke? Are they just uber bored and want to talk about this online to fill that gap? Same goes for all these ____-free and anti-whatever communities

I'm so glad there's a thread about these fucking subreddits, r/petfree has been showing up on my feed nonstop and it makes me MATI. They're always complaining about not just shit like bringing service dogs into grocery stores, but also having to see people's pets, period.

It's fucking insanity and I genuinely believe most of them want to harm animals, or fantasize about it.

I see these dog owners claiming their dogs love cartoons (when they probably don’t know what’s happening on the screen.) I'm not a huge cat guy, but the idea that Toxoplasmosis mind-controls its hoasts into liking cats is a common myth.

What it does is; makes its hoasts overly aggressive and enjoy the smell of cat urine. When a rat contracts Toxoplasmosis, it seeks out fresh cat piss and then tries to fight any cats nearby. The cat being five times the size of the rat, promptly kills and eats it, completing the life cycle of the parasite.

Now, you can't diagnose Toxoplasmosis while someone is still alive, but you can test their brains for it after they have died. People who have been posthumously diagnosed with Toxoplasmosis were reported to have paranoid-schizophrenic -like symptoms before they passed.

I'd agree about most dogs. Almost all dogs I've known have been nearly oblivious to what was on a TV screen, but I had one incredibly smart German Shepherd who had an absolute hatred of cats, and would go berserk on seeing one on TV. This was any kind of cat, lions, tigers, actual housecats, any kind of cat.

She would even freak out at CARTOON cats, which seriously impressed me because it displayed a pretty intense level of abstract reasoning.

She would freak out at even the MENTION of a cat, and figured out if you spelled it out c-a-t that you were talking about a cat. She also figured out the general principle that if you were spelling something instead of saying it, it's something that would piss her off.

This is an exception among dogs, though, because most dogs don't even seem to realize that things on TV are even representations of something. I had one idiot dog who would bark at himself in a mirror.
