We already know that for the first act, he can't be selected since he's in jail. I guess Dante could still summon him via the Malkuth power. I like to imagine that Dante is gonna command Mers via his remote command powers that he showed during the most recent intervallo and we do a prison break arc with only Mers.
He's going to use Malcute to command him to shoot an Arab

So here's my thoughts on the duo

Heathcliff
  • Tremor slave for Rodion, enables her to do a lot of damage with S3-1 and S3-2
  • Deals more damage the longer the encounter, and makes targets easier to clash with
  • This ID alone made Assymetrical Inertia EGO relevant again
  • Seems to be designed for long encounters with many enemies, we yet have to get a challenging encounter where this is the case yet.
  • Overall not weak alone but definetly needs to be put with the other thumbs
Rodion
  • Strong tremor burst output
  • She has a pocket Everlasting Faust once she gets disposal
  • The gimmick is simple, always clash the skills with the most coins, losing clashes isn't a big deal anymore since we got precognition
  • Overall damage is linked to the amount of tremor on the target, so she's designed for single target elimination that has a lot of protection, resistances, and shields.
  • Again, we barely got content for this, Yinglong and Gyeong-eop are the only ones who seem to fit the most
The team (Might not be the most minmaxxed)
- Thumb Squad (Sinclair, Meursault, Heathcliff, Rodion)
- Maost (With Everlasting)
- LCCB Ishmael (With Capote or Christmas Nightmare EGO)
Here you got two choices: - Night Awls Gregor (Unbrilliant glory is nice but not a must)
or
- Hong Lu (Lord or Yurodyiv version, personally I think Lord Lu is more efficient - Paired with Cavernous wailing)

I do not care if lord lu and maost is optimal for the tremor team they aint tremor units im using yurodivy and regret faust

Why did Mersault get shafted two seasons in a row with the main team of the season? No Heishou ID, no House of Spiders ID..

I'll be impressed if he somehow manages to get left out in his own Canto.
> Getting to be awesome uncle rather than gay power ranger is being shafted....

His seasonal ID is the new EGO which massively power boosts his Kim ID. And besides Poise, he also have reserved spot in Bleed, middle, and burn tremor teams.

Jesus Christ my condolences. I hope the upcoming Walpurgis isn’t any characters you really like.

Silly question, is there an easy way to tell what the keywords of an identity are without going into the filters and selecting sort by keyword?
No. The filter is all you get, otherwise you need to look into the kit and their skills to figure it out. Even then you need to pay attention to the passives that clarify if a unit is locked within one or two keywords like the ring Yi-Sang's Sanguine Pointillist. Or you just know most of the kits by heart like some of the autists here including myself.

Edit: Had to share this.

The status effects valid for keywords are the ones that appear in the IDs Base Skills, so Skill 1, Skill 2, Skill 3. Statuses in Empowered / secondary Skills do not count, for example, the 5 Burn in Index Yi Sang and Ring Hong Lu's Skill 3-2 doesn't make them a Burn ID and doesn't qualify them for the subsequent buffs (MD or not)
Recent IDs got very fucky with this so most of the time they have the statuses clarified in the passive list, such as Thumb Rodion being Burn and Tremor but not Poise, this overwrites the skill ones

TLDR Just have a quick glance at the base skills and check what status they apply

This is also why Maost doesn't count as a Poise unit: because the poise gain is solely on her Skill 3-2, which she has 'zero' of. (you have 3 S1s, 2 S2s, 1 S3.) another small detail you might not of noticed but your brain did is you can differenciate between what's a buff or debuff by the text colour, yellow for buffs, red for debuffs.

It's more complicated than that, skills that replace skills on the skill selection will count towards wether a character counts as an x id eg rein sang s3-2. Skills that are conditional but don't directly replace a skill in the skill selection don't count as an effect skill eg maost s3-2.
